Doctors Who Prescribe Methadone (Page 4)

Updated

I am addicted to strong pain meds and I am tired of having to come off of them, the withdrawal is awful. I went to a urgent care doc and was prescribed suboxone. I take anxiety meds too but he wants me to stop. I really need the anxiety meds but he wants me off them. How do I get him to change it from suboxone to methadone so I can take my anxiety meds?

@ Jo I have tried to be very nice to you and have never accused you of anything you sure have some major paranoia going on there. Maybe you feel guilty for something you have done or are doing. I have merely tried to engage you in taking personally responsibility for your action and posts. I think however you are looking for confrontation on here so I am going to not post to you or about you any longer, GROW UP.! You are immature and very aware of what the drugs are you are using and try to come off all innocent and unaware. YOU are the one that has felt the need to reply to any and everyone on this thread in a argumentative way so please for the community's sake put a cork in it already. See people like you only understand this sort of speaking because you are negative and walk around with a huge chip on your shoulder all the time. NOW that is PIN POINTING you!

Jo I should have explained better. If methadone is at the proper dose most people just feel normal. You surely can get high off of it. It is not a blocker. Other opiates act differently that is why methadone was choice for addiction. I am sorry if I relayed my previous message incorrectly.

@Jo.. You really are a piece of work, you know that? You tell poor JoLinda that 'sorry I'm not near you so can't help', THEN tell her she won't get help from any other doc because she's being detoxed by another, THEN give her this mumbo jumbo about "drug records are shared by the doctors and pharmacies, so they will immediately know if U are out there seeking more drugs." HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS IS FACT? Just tell me where to look!

If THAT didn't make her feel better you tell her to "try more relaxation exercises", yada yada", when she's in a state of PANIC about being detoxed off Methadone after being on it for 35 years?!! RELAX?!

THEN your usual 'sign off' "Good luck to U. Hope U feel better soon." I'm SURE JoLinda is feeling hunky-dory after that bit of 'professional' advice.

As a matter of fact, after reading what you wrote to 'Whocares'.. that would be your comment #56... Don't get all innocent on me now because I got your number. HOW DARE YOU accuse me in open forum to your response to Whocares, that I should know (because I am taking Methadone for pain) that a "PMDR is an anesthesiologist". Heck, that's nothng.. I'm just getting started! Stab me in the back.

You stated QUOTE "For one thing...I have not been the only person to post incorrect facts about drugs in here." UNQUOTE. You ADMIT to posting incorrect facts about drugs. PERIOD.

Then back in November your response to Susan (#7 should you want to check) you say: "Yes Susan. I had been taking Methadone for Peripheral Neuropathy pain for 8 years with pretty good success. Blah, blah, blah until "If U can find a good anesthesiologist who is willing to write U the script, do go to them fast !! U will get relief. If U know of any in central N.J. please forward who it is, so I can go too !! I have been on a wild goose chase for the last 6 months. Because of these DEA fears, I have lost my last 2 doctors. Currently I am without meds and suffering like Hell."

What DEA fears? Did you find a new drug supplier?

Then, (getting back to 'Whocares'), he calls you out on your crap and you follow up with a whole paragraph with a litany of insinuations about ME just to make yourself look good, when what you have achieved to do is come across as this little Miss innocent 'helper', naive, butt kisser. How DARE YOU insinuate I obtain my medications illegally by "also gone to different states to get her meds." Go ahead... beat up MsTweetie to Whocares (who must have hit a nerve telling you the TRUTH), just to cover your own butt. This particular thread is rife with your comments to anybody who will listen, yet I'm so confused about you, I was beginning to pull my hair out. 'Whocares' and I are on the same page because we were both telling you the same thing as this thread got longer, to be careful (that's being nice). I think your neuropathy pain is having an affect on your thinking process. I can relate coz it does mine depending on the scale of 1-10 my pain is. But I think it goes deeper with you. You crave validation and have this need to be right, it's all out here, all 58 posts. You've been vague, side-stepped questions, and basically rambled on and on without saying much of anything except between the lines wanting to be liked and accepted. I've been pissed all day. I've even done YOUR research for you that you didn't want to do after a Dr. said your pain is similar to RPS. I'm not stupid. I research my own stuff because knowledge is power. Acting all naive AND as if you know what you're talking about eventually shows itself after 60 long posts on here. If you want the links for RPS (or CRPS) lemme know. I'll think about it. OR, do yourSELF a favor and Google it yourself.

I'm getting the heck off here for now, move on to another thread where hopefully you are not. Think twice before saying anything. It'll come back and bite ya. Ah.. it already did.

@WhoCares...<<<<< Your name alone signifies U have some kind of anger problem. So why are U even here ?
And why would U so harshly turn on me as U have ?
1st U say U are being supportive and only asking that I be careful of what I say to people. Then U turn around and say these terrible things to me. Repeating, I might say...that I am not as naive as I say I am, but a Liar ?

I really don't "get U". But I do have something more to say to U. If all U ever take is Aspirin, then how and why do U know so much about Methadone and all these other drugs ? Plus other things, like terms a drug user would know ?

Might it be that someone U care about has had a problem, or has passed b-coz of them ? If this is so, then I am truly sorry. It is painful to watch that happen to someone U love.

I can't help but wonder about all of these things, and I think that it's quite normal for me to wonder. Yet U feel I am a Liar ? That's ridiculous. And so unfounded.

U may accuse me of all the things U like. Doesn't matter to me be-coz I know I have said nothing but the God's honest truth and have been totally upfront with everyone. If I word things in a way that's hard to understand for some, then I'm sorry. I can't help that. Most people love the way I write. So this confuses me....But U can always ask me to clarify anything I've posted.

I'll go back to saying that I believe a lot of this disbelief of people, tends to come from our uncertainties from not being able to get our meds from our doctors without some degree of "begging" of sorts, that didn't exist before. But then...of course U wouldn't do that b-coz U only take aspirin....so U don't have to go thru that.

I have no idea what U took offense to in my last post, either. It seems that with your attacking me as U are....your the one who is "on the defensive" much more than U think U are.
I'm also not a child as I've been accused of. Would U also like to see my birth certificate ?

I don't get why U say I've put myself out there as a professionally knowledgeable person on Methadone. That, my friend, is more like U do.
My introduction to Methadone was very unexpected and that's why I don't have a lot of knowledge about it. All I had ever heard about it, was that it was used to treat drug addicts. And b-coz a good friend of mine has a daughter who wound up strung out on pain killers, I got some knowledge of Methadone clinics. Using it as a pain treatment was a whole bag of new information to me. I have never questioned my doctor about it. I had to trust him. I don't investigate taking other drugs with it either, b-coz I'm not attempting to mix anything with it on my own, anyway.. I might add too, that after seeing so many different explanations of different drugs in here, I am getting more confused than I ever was !!

If U feel I'm a liar, than that's your opinion, but I'm telling U, your wrong. The last thing I have ever been or will be..is a Liar !!

I won't bother U anymore. I cannot deal with someone who has these strong, negative feelings about me; even tho it is only online.
U also have no right to tell me to not post in this forum. Who the heck are U to say that ? "Doctor WhoCares" ?

I'll tell U this. U are not the boss of me....Nor will U ever be. So don't U worry about my being in this forum...I can be in any forum I so choose. Speak to any person I choose to speak to. Or post my opinions. Tho, I do have doubts that I would stay in here for very long, anyway. I think there are a lot of people in here for the wrong reasons.
Plus, I don't need this crap from U....or anybody else who has a negative opinion about me the way U do.

It seems impossible to say anything uncensored. (in your opinion) in here, without getting accused of all sorts of things. I think your the one who is Paranoid here.
Sheesh !!

If U don't understand something I've posted, then U should ask me to explain better. I would've been happy to....and I have also tried to, at times.

U really have no right to judge me as U are. Nor does anyone else. It's easy to think someone is abusing drugs in these forums b-coz we've seen so many simply asking for names and addresses of doctors who will give them Methadone; without a full disclosure of why they so desperately need it. That does cause suspicions. and I admit...I have had some, myself.

But this is enuff from me to U. U have no use for my words....so I am done with U, if that's what U wish.
No skin off my nose. I have plenty of people who do care...and know how honest I am.
It's a shame that U don't. (not your fault ) I am only a stranger online, so it's understandable for U to have doubts.
Get yourself a good night's sleep. Sounds like U need it.

@Jo Please try and get some sort of life... because you have none at this point. I feel sorry for you.Pathetic. I am a person that holds a Psychology Doctorate ...so I am sure I am more qualified then you to assess your state of mind. You suffer from low self-esteem and you have to qualify anything and everything you say before and after making a statement. This is a classic example of inferior complex at it's worse. You have a need to challenge anything a person might say to you or about you. You need to get with a professional and work through some of these issues. I truly think you have more psychological pain then physical. The narcotics are masking something very painful in you. You are in a permanent act of taciturnity and it is sad to read your posts.

Sorry I misunderstood U when I read your post the 1st time.

I know I said I would not write to U again, but I only just found your post on this genetic test. I definitely appreciate that U have knowledge of this. I had not heard anything of it. Nor apparently have any of my doctors, unless they just figured that I was already on the Methadone, so why bother ?
Wow. I am psyched for sure !! This is an eye opener for me. Thank U so much !!
I could tell U all about the Diabetes thing too, but it would take a darn book. And I'm sure you've heard enuff from me.
Thanks again.

@Whocares, PhD.... Whoa Dr. with all due respect, I never saw an attack at YOU coming! As for myself, I'm shocked I didn't get a piece of what you did! I'm still reeling in my chair, AFTER I picked myself up off the floor from falling off it. I rec'd a couple emails after 11:00 PM or so indicating replies were posted here and as I was scrolling up, past my last blast at - well, you know, I get to the top and in disbelief see YOU are the one she goes after and it's as if what I said was invisible. She makes some untrue insinuations about you, goes back and forth into 'victim' mode, takes a little bit of responsibility half-heartedly, but as usual is all over the place, defensive, and acting angry. I'm truly baffled but won't lose sleep over it.

At first I thought she got us confused, but the more I read, the more I knew she was directing it all at you. I don't know what's going on in that head of hers and am too tired to try or care to know. I'm sorry you got the brunt, but being the professional you are you've probably seen this before. I was harsh as heck but I was damm mad and could not let that go so sorry I had to bing your name into it. Here's hoping we can touch base again. Now that I know you're a 'doc' I may pick your brain a bit. But won't take advantage. Kudos for being the professional you are.

@Ms. Tweetie well thank you for the respect I did spend a great deal of my 20's eating grill cheese to make it through 12 years of school. I still eat them and love each and every bite : ) Now Jo is in a very common state of disillusionment and it saddens me that she has so little or no support around her. She seeks this online persona to vent and project her feelings of inadequacy on others. I have decided to step away from trying to help her as she is just not in a place to want help at this point. She has attacked you and I in a few posts and she even says" or anyone else" ( implying you ) in her attack at me recently.
I most certainly would love to talk with you on any subject you would like to mull over. I think you will find me not only willing to talk but, I have a gift for listening to people. My clients all tell me they have never come across a Doc that listens to them and really tries to understand where they are coming from. Back to Jo.......she took the defensive when I blatantly told her that she was not being herself and acting naive and that she wasn't fooling anyone. She has a hard time with the criticism.
Take care and PM message me and I will send you contact information about me.

I only hope that everyone will be able to get along. This should be a sight anyone can go to get information and post comments that may be helpful for others. Arguing should not even come to play. I just recently came back to this sight because it became so petty before. I wish the best for everyone and let's try to get along. Thanks!

I just wanted to reply about a comment, question that was posted before. Dr.s are able to tell if you are going to other Dr.s to get prescriptions filled. This is the Michigan Automated Prescription System which most Dr.s are now using. Your Dr. when writing a script can see if you have gone somewhere else for meds.

The tools that some states use other states may not have. Then there are the physicians that just do not utilize the tools available to them. Just because there are Prescription Monitoring Programs in place does not mean that all doctors use them. It is worth your while to look to see if your state has a PMP before getting yourself embarrassed or in some cases arrested. The fact is more states are implementing these programs to combat doctor shopping and overlying prescriptions. They can put your Driver's License or state ID in computer and it will pull up what you have had filled (narcotics wise) and at what pharmacy and the doctors information that wrote it. Again the cases where people are still getting away with it are due to their being no compliance or knowledge of the programs on the professional side but, trust that will not be the case much longer anywhere.

Hi Pam. I don't see how they couldn't track it since they started filing everything on computers. But then too...the people who program things into the computers can put the wrong things in it also. Or skip things.
Over all...I think it's a good thing. Possibly preventing a bad overdose.

The way I actually found out was when I couldn't remember a medicine that my old Dr. prescribed. The new Dr. said no problem he could look it up and then I inquired.

@Whocares... Well, I'll be dammed. Look who I found. Thought I'd lost you as it was April 7 I believe the last time you and I commented back and forth. It's midnight and I'm heading off to bed but decided to check email for the first time all day. Have been having severe pain issues and insomnia, not getting to sleep until 4:00 AM or later (last night was at 5:00 AM this morning). Anyway, don't want to get off track but I'm exhausted, I look at my inbox and see an email from this forum telling me "Doctors Who Prescribe Methadone". I click on it, see two or three newer posts, then one from someone familiar (who has to comment on every single (post?) or thereabouts)! Scroll down a bit more and there you are. Our last exchange exactly where we left off. I get a lot of these but lost the link to this thread.

Sorry, but I get inundated with tons of email, mostly junk and am trying to weed it out. Won't bother you with this now as it's late for me, running basically on fumes right now due to lack of sleep, but if you get this between now and tomorrow morning we can figure out how to get out of this particular thread and send IM's or however one can communicate privately with another.

Good to find you Doc! Have been through some tests (lumbar MRI w/wo contrast Friday) and a 'procedure' since and we need to catch up. So chat tomorrow hopefully, k. Damn, it's great to see you here again.

@Pam, I'm not sure when I 1st realized they could do this. I might have overheard patients talking about it at the doctor's office. Not sure. Patients talked a lot at the one doctor I used to go to. Probably cause we had to sit and wait so long to see her. She didn't make real appts. She'd tell U to get there by 10:30, but U waited until your name was called anyway. It wasn't fun at all. Glad in a way that she stopped seeing me. I feel so much better at the place I'm in now.

Does anyone know of a pain management clinic near Phila. or NJ that will dispense Methadone. My husband and I are in our 60's and have been on methadone for 6 years. We moved from Pa to central Jersey and have had no luck. Our doctor in Pa has decided to stick with his rheumatology practice and stop dispensing meds. I am at my wits end. We are low on meds and my husband has a heart condition as well. He has had a spinal fusion and I have multiple nerve neuropathies as well as RSD. Can anyone help, please???

The ONLY way a doctor can see the list of Narcotic Medications that you have had FILLED is if the state and the pharmacy that you go to participates in a State Prescription Monitoring Program. It does not track non-narcotic prescriptions. The ONLY people that would be worried or concerned with this are people double dipping. If a patient is getting their medication from one doctor as they should be and getting it filled at ONE pharmacy then they will not run into any issues. Paying cash won't help as it goes by the patients DL or state ID number and the DEA number of the prescribing physician. There is no way to dupe the system if there is one in place. The only way is if you have multiple ID's with Aliases and trust me people wanting to sell this stuff for a living have them. When I am in a waiting room I do not listen to people's private conversations and I certainly would not think that would be a valid or trustworthy source of information any way. Going on the Department of Public Safety's website for the state you live in or want to see if they have a PMP would be the best source of accurate information as they are the entity that runs those programs.
