Being Lied To About Norco 10-325

Updated

I have been a chronic back pain patient for years. Degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, spurs, recurring herniated discs, sciatica. I have been getting my script filled at the Roseville, Michigan pharmacy since before the law change last October. Now sometimes I can get it filled in about a week, but usually not. After running out again last week and calling and visiting the pharmacy every day, I called today to be told to try next week ( the line I usually hear) I went there about an hour later and it was in! Found out it came in way before I called. Just as I suspected, they were LYING AGAIN. Do other people in S.E. Michigan feel they are also being lied to by their pharmacy? We chronic pain patients are taking a beating! WHY?

Question for you the pharmacy you are using is it a national chain like Walgreens or is it a locally owned pharmacy? I been on narcotic pain medications for 5 years now I take a round the clock pain medication and a breakthrough pain medication and I also get lyrica and a muscle relaxer from my pain doctor on top another 34 medications which equals 38 medications and I was using Walgreens and the started the same lines with me so I left them to a family owned pharmacy and I have zero issues with them. I call them a few days before my appointment and they have my medications in stock when I come in. If they don't I drop off my prescription and they will bring them to my house. So try family owned pharmacy they normally don't give you a run around.

We, the ones that legitimately need pain relief, are at odds with the FDA. Too many people get their meds and then sell them on the street so others can OD and die from them so from the Government's point of view, we all have to share the burden. Fair? Certainly not!! If someone wants to OD on Tylenol products, let them. Stop penalizing us for their problems. Apparently, some of our meds are stolen too so we have to be very careful with them and not let them be seen by ANYONE, like it's a huge, big, dark secret. Regular MDs are losing their license to practice medicine by Rxing pain meds so we have to go to Pain Specialists who will kick us out the door if we end up one pill short. We with real pain suffer for the misdeeds of a few. Pharmacies keep our information in a locked file, separate from other medications, so they can verify each and every pain pill that has gone through them. This should not include Valium tho, although mine comes from a Psychiatrist so they don't bother me.

I am very sorry about the problems that everyone is having. I can also explain why it's likely happening, in some cases, such as Red's.

Norco is a controlled substance and when you call your pharmacy to ask about getting it filled, they actually have no way of being sure that the person on the phone is a legitimate customer with a need, or a potential thief, thus they usually will tell you that it's not in or that they don't carry it.

In order to get an accurate answer, you have to physically go to the pharmacy, with your prescription in hand. To curb theft and diversion, they don't have to give an honest answer over the phone.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?

If you call and talk to a pharmacist they may tell you if they have it and they may not
If you deal with the same pharmacy your chances are better at getting an accurate answer. There are no laws that state a
pharmacis or pharmacy have to tell you the truth.
