Amneal Pharmaceuticals Hydrocodone 10-325 (Page 3) (Top voted first)

Updated

I have been taking hydrocodone 10-325 (made by Watson) for about a year. I picked up my prescription yesterday and instead of the normal yellow pill, I received a white oblong pill imprinted with m367 on it. I took 2 for breakthrough pain and had no relief what-so-ever. I called the pharmacy and was told that they will no longer be able to get the med from Watson. Does anyone know what has happened? I have chronic pain, and these white ones from Amneal Pharmaceuticals is not going to cut it. Has anyone else experienced this?

"The PHARMACIST SAID"? I don't know where you are talking to pharmacists. It is possible that there is some Watson opioid generics out there somewhere. The large companies like Walgreens and CVS may have some and it is possible that if a Pharmacist cared enough they may be able to transfer some from one store to another. Most could care less. HOWEVER, Watson was bought out by another company a couple of years ago and they are NOT manufacturing anymore opioid generics under the "Watson" name. You can look up "Watson" on the internet for a full explanation. Pharmacists words could be taken as the truth only a couple of years ago but since the so called "opioid crisis" many of them are just flat out untruthful.

I could not agree with you more and thank you for the additional insight. As I sit here with a massive migraine, trying to function it just boggles my mind that this is happening as I have a proper doctor with a proper diagnosis and under-medicate myself and yet does it even matter really that I go through the proper channel??? That answer is no.....The manufacturers to your point are deciding what I can and cannot take and it's just wrong on so many levels. I think the scariest point you mentioned was that the "minority" is yelling the loudest so it's creepy that for the "majority" it's not an issue but ultimately the ones being effected the largest amount. It's a shame that no lawyers are picking this up as the lives lost to opioid abuse are now going to be lost to people that cannot live a life in pain.

Re: Mary (# 141) Expand Referenced Message

You are probably familiar with the term SILENT MAJORITY. This is what we have now with the so called "opioid crisis". The majority of long term chronic pain patients that receives opioid pain medications are afraid to make themselves known because they are afraid that they will be called "chasers" and labeled with other unflattering terms. There was a time when there could be civil discourse with the Doctors, Pharmacists, and others involved but not anymore. If you say one word that is considered positive about opioid pain medications there is a fear of being dropped from the prescription of these medications. The fear of losing their prescriptions keeps a strong majority silent. This is why the minority of screamers and rabble rousers get all of the attention and the majority of chronic pain patients just sit back and take it.

Re: ThunderHeart (# 146) Expand Referenced Message

Agreed! I reported to Amneal and received an email stating they found no issues. I also reported it to the FDA and Walgreens pulled it from their shelves at my pharmacy due to the side affects so many customers encountered. SOMETHING in the ingredients are toxic to our system. It will be unfortunately years before someone files a class action against them and it settles, as it’s only a matter of time before someone gets so sick from their medications that it causes an irreversible side effect.

Amneal of course says nothing is wrong. They told me the same. Screw them. I notified the FDA. Always keep a pill or 2 aside so FDA can test. I got so sick from amneal pain medicine I almost went to ER. Its so nasty!!
Everyone that has side affects from this nasty medicine needs to report to pharmacy and FDA!!
Thank you for reporting!

Re: James Christopher (# 187) Expand Referenced Message

Watson & qualitest were both bought out by (imo) junk pharma companies ... qualitest was bought by Par Pharmicuticls with their hydrocodone facility in NY and they closed the Qualitest facility in Alabama (yes I used Qualitest for years) the problem is Par kept using their sub (par) [yes intended] formula (imo) because it uses fewer and/or less of the active pain relieving ingredients.... Watson was bought by a Brazilian pharmaceutical company which also (imo tho I have much less experience with Watson) this company also kept the less effective formula for the same reasons ... these purchases (if I remember correctly) happened around 2016/17 Par kept the Alabama facility open for a lil over a year (imo to use up & fulfill suppies & supplier contracts) not informed on the Watson transfer details ... it's a shame that junk companies can save money making less effective product & then using that saved money too buy the best companies that make a more effective product & then cut that products better components to reduce cost .... just an example ... if they make 100million pills & save 1cent on each pill that is $1,ooo,ooo more in profits for every million pillsi ... that's a lot of motive for inferior product production and keeping the active ingredients at as close to the 80% level as permitted by pharma bought & paid for legislature in DC ... if you advertise a gallon but only have 107 ounces there is a big lawsuit then why can pharma say 10mg but only include 8mg of active ingredients which is allowed by the fda thus aproved by congress ..... and it is not right ""the people"" need an easier way to remove congress members from their positions...

Re: Roro (# 188) Expand Referenced Message

Amneal Pharma is what they give me now for pain.
Hydrocodone 10/325.
I Used white oblong m365 by "Mallinkrodt" ( might be misspelling it) pharmaceutical and worked better but still not close to brand names.
But Amneal Pharma which is I believe from India, generic garbage does absolutely nothing for my chronic back pain.

The Feds caused this problem by listening to people say that they had children killed by "opiods" when they were actually killed by street heroin and /or fentanyl. They are into denial. Prescribed opiods killed very few people and they stole the medication.

Time for us to all write everyone in congress, the FDA and social security medicare/medicaid and every insurance company and president biden insisting they stop buying our pharmaceuticals out of the country. It needs to be made in the USA only if our government is covering it! Their practices are un-american and have gone on far far too long!!!

I just got the smaller Watson's from Walgreens. The ones I ususally get from Publix are not Watson anymore guess the unknown brand is cheaper=more profit and less effective.

Absolutely! I am 70 years old with a degenerative muscle condition. Has been taking hydrocodone (Watson 10/325) successfully for four years. I picked up new prescription yesterday and it was the amneal 1p10. They make me dizzy, nauseated and I had terrible nightmares all night. I don't think I can continue taking this brand. I am not abusing this drug intake exactly as prescribed, but I almost feel like my life is over if I cannot find the original what's the brand.

Anyone who says there is no difference in yelling w norco and white norco has never taken them. There is totally a difference. They kill your stomach and your life. The white is a nasty drug.Same with Lott an.Brand makes your pain go away for hours and generic makes your stomach have pain Nasusa fussy headed and no pain relief.Take another one and your throwing up.The generic should be banned. It is horrible. At least with the brand you can be a productive adult. Its the movie stars who are killing theirselves and ruined it for Thoes who really need it.If you think there isn't a difference pop a couple of generic and wait to go throw up.As A professional I would be embarrassed to blame a dye on the difference.what the heck is in the dye.I can get dye over the counter.Im serious .

I firmly believe that government intervention and the FDA has pulled the stock made by watson and activis from pharmacies because of its classification of their products being " super potent". Now the new stock of AMNEAL and others are purposely made to a strength lower than a codeine # 2 or less. Another manufacturer used I'd an India base maker. The attempt is to mask the ingredients
by falsifying the chemical contents. I believe the FDA is fully behind this scene as it tries to interfere under the guise of the so called opiate crisis. Many chronic pain sufferers on well aware that the current supply of hydrocodone is not effective and that the side effects of fake opiate causes nausea and stomach disorders. Certain drug companies should have the legal right to have this fully investigated. It is not clear whether or not the medical community or pain management physicians are in on this scam or not. This only solution to help chronic pain sufferers is to make clear to their physicians that a stronger medication such as Percocet needs to be prescribed. Physicians in that speciality will begin to lose patients, patients will most likely will no longer find relief. This again is a perfect example of government's intrusion into the market place.

I have had enough!! Any of you, if it's not too difficult, if you are being prescribed pain medicine, when you go to the pharmacy, check your pharmacy script to see if the manufacturer is Amneal. If it is, give it back to the pharmacist and ask for a different brand. If all they carry is Amneal give it back in return for your script and go to another pharmacy that doesn't carry Amneal. If we can get this garbage off the shelves by refusing it for something else we will get this lousy medicine off the shelves! We won't be lining their pockets with money in return for our health! I will NEVER accept this garbage medicine again!! Always ask before you take it. The pharmacists don't tell us when manufacturers are changed so we trust them and buy it sight unseen and then not find out until later after we've opened the bag. Then we are stuck with this s***ty medicine because we cant return it. I think it is an underhanded practice. I WILL ALWAYS ask about my medicine right there at the pharmacy before I accept this. I hate Amneal's Lortab 10/325!! By underbidding other companies on the market they are trying to get the monopoly of the pharmacies to buy this s***. Lets all be proactive and be aware and refuse this garbage and get another brand if we can.

I know it may not be easy but the more people that do this the better. It's not easy for me to get around but I am going to do this. I won't be getting my pain meds anymore from them. They went from Watson to Amneal because it's cheaper. It's cheaper because it's garbage!! I have been thinking about what happened to me with this last week and I am still very mad!! I am stuck with a s***ty medicine that doesn't work! I wanted name brand and was told by the pharmacist that Lortab is not being made anymore. WHAT! I HATE THE GENERICS!! The generics are what the pharmacies are pushing because they are cheaper. Of course they are cheaper!! Their quality is very sub par!! It's all about money and profits! I hate it! Greedy companies! Why not care about the quality of life for people who need pain meds? Disgusting greedy companies!

I am experiencing the same plus lots of other negative reactions from this garbage medicine!! I have itching, ringing ears, upset stomach, diarrhea, major anxiety, sneezing- all symptoms of opiate withdrawal. Its clear Amneal is not putting the correct amount of pain relief in these pills and they are cutting the price so all the pharmacies are buying this s*** to save money. This makes me so dam mad! I am going to find someone to analyze the ingredients of this s***! If it comes out like I think, there is going to be action. These creeps dont care about the pain people suffer. Its all about profit. Keep these India based pharm companies out of our country and out of business. Selling their s*** to us!! I have chronic pain and I know my body so well I know that this 10/325 by Amneal is total crap!!
