What Is The Half Life Of Losartan

3 Topics Found

How long does Losartan effectively stay in the body after being taken off the drug? ## Not very long, at all. The FDA lists the half-life as being approximately 2 hours, so each dose only lasts about 10 to 12 hours. Why were you taken off of it? Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.

I took 25 mg of losartan at 5:00 AM and accidentally took one at 9:00 PM. Is that harmful? ## Sorry to hear about the mishap LeeAnn... I see that you posted this back on March 31st, so it's been a few weeks now. Just wondering how you are feeling? Fortunately, Losartan's half-life is only about 2 hours, and the amount of time in between the two doses was far away enough that I probably would've imagined everything would turn out fine in the long run once it left your system; albeit might cause some unwanted side effects in the moment...

I noticed one of my pills was missing. I thought it was my losaartan 100 mg so i took another one, not sure if it was my allopurinol or losartan that i took originaly. What should i do or expect if it was 2 losartan? ## @Just wondering, I noticed that you posted this back on 12/10/2016. I'm just wondering (no pun intended) how things have turned out for you since this incident took place? Since Losartan is used to treat hypertension, I'd suspect that you probably would've experienced some degree of low blood pressure for the duration of its terminal half-life (2 hours); after which the half the dose is no longer working... Did you encounter any unusual side effects at that time? Be well~
