Clonidine Palpitations

I have been having heart palpitations on an off since I started cloindine 1 mg. Should I quit? ## How long have you been taking it and how long do the palpitations last? The FDA does list palpitations as being a possible side effect of this medication and they may continue for 4 to 6 weeks, while your body is adjusting to the medication. In most case, palpitations are harmless, unless they are accompanied by other symptoms, such as dizziness and chest pain, according to the NIH, or if they last for very long periods of time.... but, it never hurts to have your doctor check things out to be sure.

You may also experience headache, dizziness, nausea, and increased urination. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications?

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, insomnia and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

Put on half a .1mg Clonidine to take only once a day and was only taking it for less than 6 days. I forgot to take it and want off the pill. I also take 2.5 Corlanor at night and .5mg Lorazapam as needed. I am so scared and terrified of withdrawal. I was put on med for my Hyper POTS disorder. Will I be ok? There shouldn't be any issues after taking it for only 6 days, in theory, but everyone is different. The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including insomnia, nervousness, palpitations, anxiety, and elevated blood pressure. Just had an A Fib episode and blood pressure shot up to 187/107. When I have combination of both, I take 1 mg Clonidine tablet recommended by ER doctor. I already take metoprolol twice a day plus a Clonidine patch and Multaq twice daily for the A Fib. Taking the Clonidine tab when bp is this high has kept me out of the ER. This started at 8 pm and by 10 pm my blood pressure dropped to 134/87 and I was back in rhythm. Multaq has been a blessing, I do not feel palpitations in the chest when I have my episodes.
