I do not have anxiety or depression but have been prescribed alprazolam for insomnia. I usually cut the o.25 tablet in half each night before bed. Are there ANY pharmaceutical companies that make Alprazolam that look exactly like the real thing-scored on both sides,but no #'s or letters? ## These are almost oval in shape and have no markings but where you can split the pill in 2, they are green and honestly i ate one and felt nothing. they had the taste but no effect. I was told they came from a blister pack and it said they were 2mgs , are there such pills out there ## It is possible, but if it has no markings, then it is NOT from a legal US approved manufacturer and there is no way to tell if it contains Alprazolam, or if it does, if it contains the correct amount. i did not realize there was a 3 mg. xanax, does anyone have a pic? ## Sorry, providing a pic would be almost impossible since this is available in generic form. It is made by many, many manufacturers now and all of their pills will look however they want them too and have different imprints, so we could not possibly put a picture on here of any of them. There is a 3mg though only available in the controlled release.

No extended relase alprazolam are scored they are meant to be taken whole.

Hi, I found a bottle of pills. They are white rectangles, four sections divided by three scores, blank one side, GG in first section, then 2, 4, 6 in the sections below. Is this Xanax? I have taken Alprazolam for months and not had any major problems with its effectiveness. Mylan by far worked the best. But now with Aurobindo brand I feel like I’m taking a "sugar pill". The prescribed dose is 2mg as needed up to 4 times a day. The first day I took all 8 mg, despite not filling them until 5:00 pm. I didn’t sleep that night at all and the next day took just as many, with a tiny slice of relief from my anxiety. Usually I don’t take more than 2.5mg- 3 mg a day. The manufacturers can make a generic medication look however they want it to, since the shape and color means nothing. As long as it has the same active ingredient it will work the same as any of the others. I have taken alprazolam 1-2 mg for anxiety issues for years. I recently lost both my parents within 2 years,(dad 2/2013 esophageal cancer, mom 4/2015 damage to colon from radiation she received 10 years ago to beat uterine cancer. if you ask me, whatever they put on the death certificate (actual cause was heart attack) she passed of a broken heart, she and my dad were married 49 years). A Mexican pharmacy gave me blue oblong pills with IFA on one side and a score mark on the other side to refill my prescription. The guy took them out of a blister pack and put them in my bottle. I don't know how to tell if he gave me the right dose. These are blue, not purple. ## Unfortunately, I am unable to help you with this. IFA Mexico makes many medications and they use the IFA marking on all of them. Is there anyway you could double check with another Mexican pharmacy? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. ## Today I went back and asked the pharmacist who sold it to me.
