The U.S. FDA classifies Ultracet as an opioid, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Does anyone know if the company that makes Ultrase assists with individuals who cannot afford their prescriptions? ## I'm sorry, but I am not finding any assistance programs for the regular Ultrase, just for the Ultrase MT, which has been temporarily removed from the market. I was just wondering what the effects of this pain pill are. Are they similiar to vicodin or norcos? ## I was on Ultraset in the past for a herniated disk. Ultraset is not as strong as Vicodin, Percocet. It is the lowest on the pole for the painkillers. Instead of weaning myself of the drug, I stopped immediately and had side effects. My muscles ache and I felt lethargic. ## Ultracet contains the active ingredients Acetaminophen and Tramadol, the Tramadol is derived from an opiate, but is not as effective at treating pain as an actual narcotic, which is why it is no longer classified as one. As of this time, it is only classified as a centrally acting analgesic. I went to pick up my husband's pancrelipase and the pharmacy said it was discontinued by the manufacturer. Is this true? I know it is a generic for pancrease but it's more expensive and he is a pancreatic cancer survivor and has to take these for life. Can you please tell me if this is true? ## From the information I am finding, yes, this product has been discontinued, but no reason has been given for why this was done. The only thing I can suggest is talking to the pharmacist or contacting his doctor for an alternative. I have no idea what they prices are, but there are a few other brands on the market that contain the same ingredient, such as: Cotazym, Creon, Lipram, Ultrase, Zymase and several others.
