My Mother has lung cancer. She is taking radiation and Chemo carbo taxol. The Chemo Doctor said do not take Vitamin C with this drug as it will weaken the effectiveness. Is this true? I am a 25 yr breast cancer survivor. A nutritionist at the MD Anderson Clinic in Houston told me to take mega doses of Vit. C while going through my one year of Chemo. I did. I am alive today and I believe the Vit. C helped me. Is there some research on vitamin C and the chemicals given for cancer cure? Thank you!

My mom was diagnosed with stage IV NSCLC with only BM two weeks ago. The day before she was to get her port for Carbo/Taxol (which Medicare had pre-approved), the called and said her ALK came back positive so new plan is Xalkori. She went to get the med and the price is astronomical. She is on Medicare and there is absolutely no way that she can afford the drug, and no way even spread between the three kids we can make it work. Has anyone obtained the drug in Canada or Mexico? We're willing to do anything legal to get this for her. She got a grant that will cover two month of it, but after that we just don't know what to do. ## Is your mom low income? If she is, she might qualify for help paying her Medicare co/pay and other Medicare expenses. I have put a link below. She can al...

I have a constant headache and been prescribed these but am worried about side effects as I'm already feeling nauseous with headaches. I am also on chemo taxol weekly. ## Headache with nausea may suggest a migraine headache. If you are diagnosed with migraine by your physician, he/she may give you a prescription for a medication that specifically treats migraines. Such medications help alleviate both the headache and related symptoms, including nausea. I suggest you see your family doctor first. ## Hello, Jan! How are you? Since you're doctor has already prescribed the Meloxicam, you could try taking it with food or a snack to minimize the possible nausea and stomach irritation it can cause as side effects. Other, as listed by the FDA, may include dizziness and increased risk of...
