Zanamivir
Zanamivir is a medication used to treat and prevent influenza caused by influenza A and B viruses. It is a neuraminidase inhibitor and was developed by the Australian biotech firm Biota Holdings. It was licensed to Glaxo in 1990 and approved in the US in 1999, only for use as a treatment for influenza. Does anyone have experience using Relenza to treat or prevent the flu? ## Hello, Ldkat! How are you? I've never taken it, I usually opt for the flu shot each year, but I can tell you more about it. It is an antiviral medication and if taken, before you actually have flu symptoms, it can sometimes prevent it entirely. Otherwise, if taken after you have it, it helps prevent the virus from replicating in your body, which can lessen the symptoms, their severity and the duration of the the flu. The most common side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include diarrhea. nausea, headache, dizziness and cough. Are there any other questions or concerns?

Its a drug given for swine flu ## To be honest, since the word you used is so close to squealing, I believe someone was pulling your leg. It is an old joke, trying to make a pun on unusual medication names. In the U.S. there are 2 drugs that are used for swine flu, there are Tamiflu and Relenza. Are there any questions or comments? ## Thanks cause I heard its a drug that their going to give people as a vaccine for the swine flu.
