I've been taking the Xeplion (Paliperidone) injection for about a year now. This drug blocks the serotonin and dopamine receptors in the brain. I read that this drug stays in the body for 126 days. If I stop taking this drug, will the serotonin and dopamine receptors be unblocked after 126 days?

My friends daughter was just put on this drug when she had a psychotic break and was hospitalized. My friend said they have identified her daughter as a schizephrenic (sp) ## Invega is a name brand for Paliperidone. It is an antipsychotic medication. ## Thanks Vernon for your response. What does that mean though? Anti-psychotic, what types of patients is it prescribed for usually, is it for Schzophrenics or what. Is Invega Sustenza related to Risperdal? I "heard the patent was running out on risperdal and Invega Sustenza is taking its place". ..Is thiere any truth to this? ## Risperdal contains the active ingredient Risperidone. Will my brain return to normal.. It effects my spirit negativly and im very lethargic ## The lethargy is really normal, when you're on any type of antipsychotic, that's part of how they work. And yes, you should eventually return to normal, but I can't give you a better idea of when, since I don't know how long you were on it, or what your dosage was. Learn more Paliperidone details here. I am having a lot of secondary effects after stopping invega. 1. anhedonia 2. cognitive problems 3. walking problems 4. insomnia Is anyone experiencing the same? Especially the insomnia.
