Can I do light exercise while taking Ketek, I train for the world champs in Aug and is a cyclist ## Based on my own understanding of Ketek (Telithromycin), light exercising should be fine. I certainly wouldn't suggest going all out and over-training on it though, just because it's working with your body to fight an infection, which can take it's toll on your energy levels throughout the day. Other details I've found about this medication state the following: "You should start to feel better early in your treatment. Call your doctor if your condition does not improve while you are taking telithromycin. Take telithromycin until you finish the prescription, even if you feel better. My daughter has a sinus infection and she took ketek. After 5 pills she decided to go to the doctor because she still was sick with 102 of fever. She told the doctor that she was taking ketek the doctor told her it was o.k. but gave her a shot for her sinus swelling. The day after we had to rush her to emergency in the hospital because she had a terrible skin rash. Do you think that ketek caused it after 5 pills or was it the shot or the combination of both. ## I RECENTLY TOOK KETEX FOR A SINUS INFECTION AND AT THE END OF MY 5TH DAY I WENT TO BED BUT WOKE IN THE MORNING WITH AN AWFUL SKIN RASH ON BOTH ARMS AND BOTH LEGS. I been taking Lipitor 40 mg and decreased it to 20 mg. I had terrible back pain for over a year. This past month I was put on an antibiotic called Ketek and the pharmacy told me to stop the Lipitor while on the Ketek. I did and guess what, my back pain is gone.
