infection ## Have been taking 3 times a day for 5 days. Bowels are loose and stomach feels like bathroom almost constantly. Have to finish it all. ## That is a common side effect of antibiotics, antibacterials and antinfectives. If it is bothersome, speak to your doctor, they may recommend some Immodium or something to help relieve the symptoms.

I am taking Eryko-250, I am also taking Oralcon contraceptive pills. I have been told that antibiotocs cancel out the function of the pill, is this true? Will my pill still work? ## Eryko contains the active ingredient Erythromycin and yes, it can reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives. Learn more Erythromycin details here. Thus, while you are under treatment with it, it is best to use some other back up form of contraceptive, such as condoms, until you have finished your course of treatment with it and taken the active birth control tablets again for a full 7 days. Suffering... ## No, that would actually contribute to the degradation of it, since freezing it exposes it to moisture and ice crystals can form in the medication. Thus, not only is old, but storing it in such a way has greatly hastened its aging. Have you consulted your doctor? You should do so, in order to get a new prescription, if an infection is present.

The first is whether or not you actually have an infection, that needs to be confirmed by a doctor's exam. And the next, of course, is what would be the appropriate antibiotic to treat it, if you do have one. Crushing it may not work, because you may not absorb enough to actually do you any good. Hi I was given eryko 250 yesterday and im taking 2 tablets every 6 hours, but im experiencing pains under the diaphragm, its almost like heartburn, but its quite sharp, is this normal or im allergic to erythromycin? please help this pain is killing me I also would like to know why it is recommended to take before meals? ## Erythromycin can cause abdominal pain in some people that take it, but it can also cause some more serious problems, such as pancreatitis, so you should check with your doctor so they can figure out what's going on.
