childrens benadryl allergy and sinus

Our Ped told us we could give our 11 month old (22lbs) 1tsp of Childrens Benadryl to help with her runny nose and cough. I grabbed the Allergy and Sinus one not thinking and now I'm wondering if that's still okay to give to her? ## @Rheiannon, According to the manufacturer, Children's Benadryl should not be given to children under 1 year of age for treating allergies. Reason they say this though is because it causes most babies to be too sleepy. Also for a child weighing 20-24 lbs they recommend 3/4 of a tsp. Personally I don't see a quarter of a tsp having THAT much more of an effect overall on the tiredness of the baby. But then again, everyone responds differently to these meds. However I wouldn't be overly concerned about giving this to your child since yours see......

Actifed Cold And Allergy availability

I always found Actifed to be the only cold medicine that worked for me. Now I cant find it at any of my local drug stores even behind the counter. Is it still available? Even the pharmacist I talked to thought it was on the shelf and then realized they quit carrying it. ## Yes, it keeps my sinus issues under control while I sleep. Not finding it anywhere is very troubling. I am wondering if it is available under a different product name. ## September 2011: The best (for me) medicine to control post nasal discharge and allergic reactions has disappeared. Some store still carry Actifed Plus (with added analgesic) but I don't need that. The pharmacists have no info...and there is no other product on the market that I can find that has the same active ingredient (other well-known brands......

Drixoral cold & allergy out of stock?

This is a green 12 hour extended release pill. I have to sign for them at the pharmacy. I can't get them off the shelf anymore. Lately they have been out of them & that is all they tell me. What is going on with them? I have been to several pharmacies with the same results. They are the only thing I have found that truly works for my sinus allergy problems. ## Since it contains Pseudoephedrine, which has become such a problem and the reason that mandated these types of products be kept behind the counter, the company has decided to discontinue its manufacture. There are other products available that contain the same ingredients, so your pharmacist should be able to recommend a suitable alternative. ## Some people make methamphetamine with these kinds of OTC meds, which is why th......

dimetapp allergy and cold medicine

Can I also take Claritin D medicine with dimetapp cold and allergy together? ## Hi Anne, From what I could gather, there are no drug interactions listed between the active ingredients in Claritin-D (loratadine + pseudoephedrine) and Dimetapp Cold & Allergy (brompheniramine + phenylephrine). So with that said, you shouldn't experience any problems taking the two medications together. However, I would always recommend consulting with your doctor first before making any changes to your current regimen. This way if certain side effects do occur, he or she would at least be aware of the situation ahead of time. I hope this helps!...

Wal-Finate D, Chlor-Trimeton, Sudafed Cold & Allergy

I have used products with the combo of Chlorpheniramine Maleate 4 mg, Pseudoephedrine hcl 60 mg, on a spot basis for years. Now I can't find, under any of the brand names, in any of the stores, I have used in the past. They were under control, requiring gov't ID at the Pharmacy counter. Was this not enough? Have they all been banned? Triaminic Cold & Allergy also had same ingredients. ## Their disappearance from pharmacy shelves is due to the restrictions causing severely lowered sales. This caused many companies to switch to using Phenylephrine. Have you tried talking to your doctor about it? I believe they can still prescribe Pseudoephedrine, which may make it easier for you to find. Ref: Medline Plus Pseudoephedrine Pseudoephedrine may cause side effects, such as nausea, ......

benadryl false positive drug test

I attend a methadone clinic in the state of pa. I've been on methadone at the same clinic for over 2 & 1/2 yrs. I've been clean since joining in may of 2011. Last Monday I had my first false/positive drug screen which came up benzos. My counsler said it's from the benadryl most likely not the Advil cold n sinus I took the night before my drug screen . Muy supervisor at the clinic was told the original lab that fulfills our drug screens at the clinic told her it wouldn't be from the benadryl. They took away my take homes while it is being sent out to be tested again. Will further testing break it down more to show that I have only took my methadone vitamins benadryl and Advil cold & sinus. I am very stressed out because I now have to wake up myself and 2yr old son......
