Both of the drugs in question are one in the same, except the only difference being that Verapamil ER is an extended release version of Verelan PM. Additionally, there may be a slight variation of inactive ingredients (as they are different brands); but other than that you can be assured that they are the same drug, but one just lasts longer.

This is not correct. Both of these formulations are extended release.
