Tramadol In Memphis
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I live in Memphis and am suffering from chronic pain from c1 and c2 in my neck and the trap area in my shoulder. My collarbone often feels like it is broken. I have dealt with this pain on a chronic and severe level since 2007. I have had no insurance for most of my adult life but my husband was recently accepted as a senior scientist at St Jude Children's Research Hospital.the pain recently got so bad that I had to go to the emergency room even without insurance they gave me dilaudid to relieve the pain as well zofran which helps relieve nausea. I left the ER with a prescription of tramadol immediately made all pain go away. Unfortunately I was only given a very limited quantity and was hoping that I could make a visit to my regular doctor so that I could get a refill she looked at me like I was crazy who can recommend a good pain management doctor that would help me to continue my tramadol. Advice needed and appreciated thank you.

Re: Tiredofbeinginpain (# 7) Expand Referenced Message

I really don’t understand why tramadol would be considered with the other opioids? I have taken it for years for RA and fibromyalgia and have never once had any euphoria from them. The only thing I feel is less pain. Do people feel euphoric if they take too many?

Tramadol is in no way habit forming. At least not to me & the class tier of drugs it is in is only a 2, it is no different than taking Motrin 800 mg. You can you ask the doctor for tramadol and they wouldn't have a problem with it, at least where I live. It's what they prefer to give over any other drug. I have kidney stones and went to the ER and they gave me tramadol and it wasn't my first time having them. I laughed in their face and said I should just take Advil and I didn't come to the emergency room screaming my head off to be given something equal to Advil/Motrin. They said after 10 minutes if nothing happened they would change the medicine which they did. My husband doesn't take anything for pain except for Advil or Aleve, no matter what, except when given tramadol & Ultram. Unsure if they are the same & I told him they do fall under the class of a narcotic but he doesn't believe me and he is in no way nor has he ever been ever addicted to them when he has taken them & no they don't make you feel euphoric or have any of those effects even though the RX bottle said so. Curious as to what others have to say.

Don't worry if you're finding it difficult to get a Doctor to prescribe Tramadol. I was in the same boat but was on an even stronger narcotic for pain. I had been taking them for over ten years but my Doctor quit prescribing them due to pressure from the CDC and DEA. I was incredibly distraught. Then I tore my rotator cuff. Even with that, no meds for pain until I have surgery to repair it. I looked for something else and then found it. Kratom. Just look it up online and you'll find thousands of testimonials. I ordered some and have been on it for a week. It's a dry, fine powder from a plant that grows in Indonesia and surrounding areas. I ordered from a company here in the US. You can check out the top places through a search. It has changed my life. My pain went from a ten to a one. Often, it's not even a one!
Hope you find relief like I did, all the best to you.

Lauren,

I know you're post was from quite a while ago. But I am feeling desperate. I also live in Memphis and I've been taking tramadol for neck pain. But, I will run out tomorrow because one of my orders never came through. I am writing to find out if you can help guide me through withdrawals, until my replacement order comes in about 10 days? I am sure you know how bad the WD from it is. I am hoping for some help.

P.S. I am getting off of it with the help of my wife. Thanks for your time. My email is {edited for privacy}

I am highly medically knowledgeableand have quite the lengthy medical history. She should know that as my doctor. I don't expect you to, however. On a seperate unrelated visit to a different clinic, I saw a psychiatrist who sees patients for cash. She told me that it is obvious after seeing me for as many years as she has that I'm a chronic pain patients and that I am in need of dire help. She told me right then and there that she would write a prescription for me if she could but she can't. This is only because of the class at it is in. I'm going back to a pain specialist Mays and Schnapp on Humphreys Boulevard once I get insurance which will be 30 days after my husband starts at the hospital. Until then if my pain is to get worse I will just have to go back to the hospital. It is just that bad. The practitioner that I spoke to that was sympathetic to my cause understood that my pain is so bad that I have often thought of committing suicide. I'm sorry if I am knowledgeable about my body and what I need to get better I consider myself to be an advocate not a pill pusher.

Hello, Lauren! How are you feeling?

She might have looked at you like you were crazy, because you were asking for a specific medication. Doctors are actually taught to see that as being drug seeking behavior and since Tramadol can be habit forming, it likely made her somewhat suspicious.

Learn more Tramadol details here.

Is it possible that she might be able to refer you to a specialist? That would likely be the easiest way to get the help you need.
