Restyl contains the active ingredient Alprazolam, when given before surgery, it is generally used for its sedative like effects.

There is nothing listed about it being contraindicated for diabetic patients, but you may want to check with your doctor to be certain.

It may, however, cause other side effects, like nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

srijith, it can be used for both conditions, since it does depress the central nervous system and can cause drowsiness.

However, its effects on lowering blood pressure are usually not significant for someone that has a high blood pressure problem.
