Pain Management Drs That Take Medicare A (Top voted first)

Updated

I'm a lil worried my pcp is fixing to take me off of my dilaudid I take daily due to a surgery on my stomach(it numbs my stomach so I can eat) he took me off all my other pain meds for fibromyalgia and the dilaudid don't touch the fibro, I'm a 46 yr old fm who has had heart attacks heart surgery strokes, a rare blood clotting condition that was a main contributor to all of those I lost over 100 lbs ( thanks to surgery) to get healthier now I'm worse off I have neuropathy from the diabetes I had, I also suggest from trigeminal neuralgia which causes me severe headaches that last from days to weeks I cant think of everything else but I fear I don't qualify for a pm Dr, and don't know what to do cause I try to sleep as much as possible so I don't feel the demons coming out of my skin. can someone lead me in the right direction please I have Medicare A & B for primary and Medicaid for secondary insurance to pay what Medicare doesn't cover but if necessary my son will pay for that.

Hello, Kaye! How are you? I am very sorry that you're so miserable.

What is your general location? That information might enable someone to recommend a good doctor in your area?

Can you please post back and clarify? Thanks!

Of COURSE you'll "qualify" 4 a PM dr.....however MANY of the doctors that CAN see you with your Medicare will not treat you in the way you're accustomed to. They'll see you to "consult with you and your Primary doctor" well mainly bca they get paid FAR BETTER with our (im on medicare too...but dont Qualify for medicaid, but i know others that have what you have...) insurance. If you dont get the help you need from a PM that accepts your insurances, try to find a Cash doctor (or one willing to see you on a cash basis) willing to see you and work with you. Often bca your insurance isnt a factor youll receive better treatment than any other PM doctor. The 1st visit will be very expensive but after that, you can go to 20 minute follow up appts that will be much more reasonable. And you need to go in and be OPEN to much trial n error with alternative treatments....I wish you the greatest of luck in your pain control... (((hugs!!)))
