Oxybutynin And Overactive Bladder (Page 2)

Updated

Does anyone know how long it takes for this drug to leave your system. I don't think it is working for me and I want to compare how may times I urinate with and without it?

I just asked that questions at the pharmacy the other day and he said up to 72 hours depending on your body fat.

Hello, I would like to know of a naturopath. I am taking Oxybutyin only until I can see a naturopath, but I have no idea where to start. Afraid to get a quack. Perhaps you know someone out in Corona California or I am willing to drive to do a drive of about 30 miles if need be. thank you for your consideration. I have 3 kids under 7 and I can't do anything with them because I am up every hour to urinate and during the day I must be so close to bathroom.

iI HAVE BEEN USING OXYBUTININ TRANSDERMAL PATCHES THAT 3.9 MG OF OXYBUTININ EVERY DAY. THEY ARE CHANGED TO A DIFFERENT SITE TWICE WEEKLY. I HAVE BEEN USING THEM FOR 8 WEEKS AND NO LONGER FEEL THEY ARE EFFECTIVE. I NEED TO URINATE 4 OR 5 TIMES PER NIGHT NOW. PREVIOUSLY I USED TOVIAZ 8MG, THEY WERE VERY EFFECTIVE BUT MADE ME FEEL WORN OUT. WHEN I SEE MY DOCTOR LATER THIS WEEK I WILL ASK FOR TOVIAZ 4MG AND SEE HOW THEY WORK. AM TIRED OUT WITH THE NIGHT URINE PROBLEMS. I PREVIOUSLY WORE A PERMANENT BLADDER CATHETER THAT I SELF MANAGED.

I also have IC. I have been given at least 6 meds (over 10 year period) - no result, the latest being Toviaz. I am having a cystoscopy next week and have read so much about Elmiron causing hair loss that I am afraid to take it. Have you experienced this side effect of losing your hair?

I was put on vesicare (solifenacin) approx 6 months ago as was voiding (often using ISC) approx every ten mins and on average 28x a day (that only includes one or two night visits!). I was getting really fed up as didn't seem to be working (ESP as I'm on smitriptylene already for neuropathic pain and a whole host of other drugs). However after 3 weeks I started noticing a positive change but did not feel full benefit for 6 weeks so don't give up yet. I gathered it is much the same for all meds used inntreatmentbof OAB or a spasm condition, Steph

3-6 weeks for full effect. I nearly gave up but results worth it even though I now have to do ISC much of the time. I had extreme urgency but inability to void. Have to say I would rather be incontinent than be desperate and unable to go.

Hello
My 8 year old daughter has been on Oxybutynin XL for a long time. Initially 5mg from the age of 3 and then 10mg from last year. The doctor has only just worked out that her illness may actually be side effects! How long will it take for the medicine to leave her body?
Thank you in advance for any advice.

AFTER YEARS OF WEARING A PERMANENT SELF MANAGED CATHETER, LOADS OF BLADDER INFECTIONS INCLUDING A SUPERBUG TYPE THAT TOOK MONTHS TO CLEAR. I TOOK TOZIAZ 8MG AND AFTER A SHORT TIME CHANGED TO TOVIAZ 4MG. NOW I TAKE OXYBUTININ 2.5 MG ON GETTING INTO BED, THIS GIVES ME BLADDER CONTROL FOR AT LEAST 6 HOURS. DISCUSS THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR GP, THERE ARE ALSO SURGICAL PROCEDURES TO SOLVE THE UNSTABLE BLADDER PROBLEM. I AM UNABLE TO HAVE THIS AS I HAVE A SERIOUS HEART PROBLEM WHICH PREVENTS ANY SURGERY USING FULL ANAESTHETIC. GOOD LUCK.

I have MS, and just woke up one day to strong bladder pain. Infection ruled out. Have been on 1st 5mg, then 10mg oxybutynin for a month. I don't have much urgency, but my bladder HURTS/pressure/mostly on left side. I think it has helped ease the symptoms some..but not totally. should I ask for another dose escalation? Getting frustrated.

It took 3-6 weeks for vesicare to work, but it only stays in your system for 72 hours after you stop it. After 7 months I noticed I was starting to void often again and the pain was starting although not frantic like before.
I have a rare neurological disorder where the brain 'likes' high levels of medication. Rather than go up to 10mg and know that eventually my brain would become tolerant to this too, I stopped it. I was off it for 10 weeks and I only got reall bad again after this break. Now I have gone back on it and its worked within 3 weeks (or I am not experinecing urgency) and only voiding every few hours so I plan to do this as and when necessary. I dont know if this is the same for others with IB or whether other people with associayed neurologocal disorders experience this? I would be very interested to know, Steph

Ive been on oxybutynin 5mg for a month and a about 2 weeks ago they tried upping it to 10mg because i had urgency, pressure like my bladder or stomach was full, and some burning sometimes (worse with period). Within 3 days i was worse and had to go to thé hospital. I tried a pill in a half so about 7.5mg and that hurt me that day so i tried lowering the dose to just half or 2.5mg and i felt pretty good til the next day so I tried half in the morning 2.5mg and half 12 hours later... So far it is working better than the other ways... I have frequency a little bit at night and if i dont ddrink alot of water i hurt... I have à feeling its not just in my bladder. But if it doesnt work upping the does, i tried splitting it so ur body doesnt take so much at once

My doctor switched my medication from Santura XR to Oxybuynin. I am now feeling the side effects of this drug. My eyes are swollen and dry, my throat is very dry and I feel dizzy. How long before the effects of this drug wear off? I took one yesterday and I am feeling pretty dizzy and fatigued.
