I take 100mg of the above Metformin 1 time a day with the evening meal. Sometimes the next morning I will notice the undesolved tablest in my stool, especially when I have diarrhea. What can I do to make sure my medication is disolving and taking effect.

Hello, John! How are you?

What you are seeing in your stool is just the outer shell, however, the medication is released and used by your body.

Metformin actually tends to have a horrible odor, so some manufacturers use a special outer shell/coating, to prevent people from smelling it.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, flatulence and hypoglycemia.

Is there anything else I can help with?
