Hi, I am taking 2 x 75mg Lyrica each morning for overactive bladder pain. It has worked well and also changed my mood in a positive way. However, I would rather not be taking any medication and was advised I could just stop taking it. I did that for 3 days and felt tranqualised! Very tired and eyes not focusing well. I took 1 x 75mg tonight and slowly feeling back to normal. Have I done any permanent damage? I have decided to take 1 x 75mg per day for a couple of weeks and then 1 every second day and then hopefully none. Do you think I will get any side effects doing it this way?

HI, Milly! How are you?

It's doubtful that you did any permanent damage to yourself, but you should check with your doctor to be certain. You should also do that in regards to tapering off of it.

However, the plan you've mentioned is the way that it's commonly done for these types of medications now, though they would normally have you do it a bit slower by not stopping when you're down to every second day, they'd usually have you continue to every 3rd day and so on, so it's a very gradual reduction.
