Well, I am sorry to say that is these were not prescribed for her by a doctor, this is definitely NOT something she should be messing around with.
This is a generc version of the mild narcotic pain killer Darvocet. It contains Propoxyphene 100mgs and 650mgs of Acetaminophen.
It is the mildest narcotic you can get, but still a narcotic nonetheless. Therefore it carries the possibility of dangerous side effects and addiction.
On top of that, Propoxyphene had been found to be a cardiotoxic agent, so it should never be used without a doctor's approval and supervision.
The next question, of course, is whether or not your daughter knows what it is. Since most laymen don't know how to identify drugs, they have no clue what something is when someone gives it or sells it to them. So she could have thought it was something innocent, or she might have been wanting a narcotic.
It is also possible that a friend dropped it or left it there and she didn't notice or didn't know what to do with it. The drug education in schools is very limited, they don't let kids know that even having possession of one tablet of a controlled substance that wasn't prescribed for you is an illegal act.
Another problem that often arises is that many kids think that if it is a prescription drug it is safe, so they think they can use them or abuse them without harm.
I am really hoping you can get to the root of this, and I hope it turns out to be something innocuous.
