Heroin After Suboxone

I know a patient that never took suboxone before. They took 8mg at 6:00 am. If they were to consume heroin or any other opiate after, would they feel the effects? Patient in question coughed up the suboxone.

No, they won't feel it as they normally might but I highly recommend avoiding any opiate. Suboxone blocks your opiate receptors so you can't get the same effect. Plus they would run the risk of overdosing since they already have that in their system. Doesn't matter if they coughed it up or not.

Suboxone has naloxone in it but if you take it under tongue the naloxone doesn't get in your system or very little. this is to stop people from abusing it. if you do some research naloxone at about 30 MCG can actually enhance opiates. I know people will bag me for this comment but do research.

I've been taking suboxon for about 4 days now. Only 2mg a day. If I took my last dose of sub at 8 in the morning would I feel anything off of H at 5 pm?

I would say you might feel it a little but not the full effect. I'm not sure if you know this or not but you can still overdose. Just my 2cents.

If someone who's been on heroin for 5 yrs attempts to quit by using suboxone strips but is only taking 1/4-1/8 of a strip under their tongue a couples times a day could they still continue on heroin w/o experiencing the sick nausea feeling and would they feel the effect of the heroin?

No they wouldn't feel the heroin until about 20 hours has past. I have experience with suboxone and methadone havent done heroin in 25 years but it would be similar to skipping your morning sub doing methadone or heroin by 5pm the mdone kicks in youre never sick. This is for someone on regular subs though, doesnt work so well the other way around.

I read your post Bri...what doesn't sound right is you saying your friend coughed up the suboxone he took. How??? Suboxone is sublingual which means dissolve under tongue. If your friend is swallowing suboxone then it isn't effective anyway.

Mike, if you took 8mg of Suboxen, you could do a bag or two of heroin as soon as 1 hour after taken the Suboxen and be fine. But Don't take your next Suboxen until you start to withdraw.

I took a 2/8mg dose at 11am and had opiates at 3pm and felt it all... Some individuals don't need to wait.

Thank you. Yes that's true, I know from experience. I also know if you don't wait until you're in full withdrawal it will send you into full withdrawal immediately as it did me and it was awful.
