Please give me an explanation of the discontinuance of EST ESTROGENMTEST DSTAB GLENMARK tablets,(dark green ones) and recommend a testosterone substitute for a female who has benefited from multiple organisms - not EST ESTRGN METHTEST 1.25/2.5? These do not work.

Thank you.

Patricia

Yes, this contains a form of Testosterone called Methyltestosterone. Women do still have a small amount of it in their bodies, which is necessary for their overall health and well being, just like men have some estrogens and progesterone in their bodies. That is what the mtest stands for in the name of the medication.

Patricia, I'm sorry, but I have no information on why the company discontinued the medication and if that one isn't working, then you should take to your doctor to see what your other alternatives might be.

And Jackie, the hair loss might actually be due to the estrogen in this, it may just be putting far too much in your body.

Conventional medical wisdom has always been that symptoms such as hair loss, lack of libido, hot flashes, acne and etc. have been caused by a woman becoming low in estrogens.

However, it has since been discovered that such is usually not the case. The symptoms of PMS, PCOD/PCOS, perimenopause and menopause are actually usually caused by the women being estrogen dominant, because she has stopped producing enough progesterone.

Thus, when you're experiencing such issues, adding estrogens can actually make the issues worse.

There are also many risks associated with taking a medication like this and not opposing it with Progesterone and many risks associated with taking synthetic hormones of any type.

I strongly encourage women with problems to have their hormones tested, via a saliva test that takes several samples throughout the month and to try natural bio-identical hormones, before resorting to these.

These synthetic prescription options should be the last resort choice, not the first option.

Are there any comments or concerns?
