Diaper Rash From Clindamycin

Has anyone else gotten adult diaper rash while using clindamycin?

It can cause a non-allergic skin rash, as a side effect, most antibiotics can do that. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and diarrhea.

However, if the rash is solely confined to your genital area, then you should have it checked out by your doctor. They can also cause yeast infections and, if that is what you're experiencing, then you'll need an antifungal medication to treat it.

I was left incontinent after an accident and wear absorbent briefs (aka adult diapers with tapes) to manage it. I NEVER, in seven years have had any serious diaper rashes, yeast, or fungal infections, or any serious skin issues down there as I make sure to stay clean. I took clindamycin the first time after some dental work this summer and also had my first bout of a bad rash in my private area and had to see a doctor to get anti-fungal cream for it. I blamed the rash on the heat and me being run down, and it went away with the cream, but recently had some more work done and was prescribed clindamycin again, and within a week I now have the same rash again on my genitals. If you are incontinent, at least to me, it seems to make you more susceptible to diaper rash/fungal infections, at least in my experience. I know I am going to ask to take something else next time.
