I went to the pharmacy in Costa Rica after one day of serious stomac pain. Problem is that the pharmacist didnt understand a single word english.. so I only pointed on my stomac and said Ouch. I havent been able to go to the bathroom and I feel like throwing up but its impossible. Should I keep taking these pills? And how often, because I didnt get a description. 400 mg Diacort Nufuroxazida, green and yellow cupsule.

My friend is in Costa Rica and came down with stomach cramping and diarrhea on Sunday, (20) and went to a doctor yesterday morning because pain was so bad. Doc prescribe diacort and glutapak, so you may be on the right track. She was still pretty sick last night and haven't spoken to her today. Hope you both are better soon!

Hello,

Just for those who don't know, the medication "Diacort" contains the active ingredient Nifuroxazide, an antibiotic, commonly used to treat Colitis and diarrhea.

Side effects may include (but are not limited to): nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and dizziness.

I was given the same medication in costa rica for diarrhea , instructed to take one capsule every 8 hours for 5 days .

I got really bad food poisoning while in Costa Rica. Up all night projectile vomiting with diarrhea every 20-30 minutes. Worst night of my life. Early the next morning I went to the Pharmacy and was prescribed 400mg Diacort. Instructions were to take 3, 4 hours apart on first day, 2, 6 hours apart day 2 and 1 each morning thereafter for 3 more days. Was a miracle drug. Quickly cured both my diarrhea and nausea after 2nd dose. I bought a few packs for future use and always take it with me when traveling in latin american countries. Has come in very handy for when I get montezuma’s revenge.

Diacort its the best for when Loperamide wont cut off the diarrhea after 2 days. There is pediatric diacort too and its amazing for kids since they get sick quite often.

I normally have lanzoprazol 30mg as I have ulcer but on this recent prescription I got diacort 5mg..no one told me my prescription was changing simcwondering why...anyone with any ideas

After years of visiting Costa Rica, I finally got I'll willed with Dirreah. Went to the pharmacy and the yellow/green pill was provided. Highly recommended because I do not have time for this.

I just came back from Costa Rica. 6/1/23. I became very ill within 2 days of trip. It felt like food poisoning from chicken and I mistakenly drank water from pipe. The Imodium didn't work, than was given some other pulls. By the 8th day I went to see another doctor and he gave me Diacort and imodium. Within 36 hours I was getting relief. We changed our trip dates so I could get back to USA. I never in my life was so sick. I also got th stomach virus that is going around. I had a double Whammy! Glad I'm home, still not 100%, and it's 2 weeks now.
