It is good for your overall health, as well as the health of your skin, according to NIH reports, but it really doesn't lighten your skin tone, or help remove spots.

Ritu, are you sure they just aren't freckles? Do you have any others on your body? Are you on any other medications?

DSM, only if you abuse it by taking more than you are directed. Otherwise, the given benefits don't change.
