I found Subutex in my daughter's room with a needle. Do people really IV this? Why do people take it that dont need it?

Subutex will throw u into withdrawals if u take it to early if u do a lil research online u would have found a site describing the fact that buprenorphine take the checkered flag when it comes to binding to ur opiate receptors so with that fact if u take subutex the bup. will knock any other opiates out of the receptor site and replace it with itself and being that bup.(subutex) is a less stronger opiate it will throw u into withdrawals so make sure u take it once withdrawals start to avoid that and it will get u well in no time...

Wish i read your post before quitting. Been doin percs for 11 years. Was doin 6 to 8the 30's aday. What started for severe back neck problem. I tried to quit to quick. Starting at a quarter sub for two days before bed to calm my legs. Then to an eighth. Way to quick. On day 12 tried to go without. Did alot of situps and push ups to release endorphans to be able to sleep. Got more subs and will have to try another week.

You WILL go into withdrawals doing any subutex or suboxone to soon after doing any opiate if addicted, your statement made no sense, yeah you can do a subutex, then take a perc and get high, because the subutex has no opiate blocker, but if you take the perc or opiate FIRST, then the subutex will make you go into withdrawals, same as a suboxone would, you have to wait until you actually are withdrawing for these subs to work.

Thank you so much to everyone for your helpful insight into how to kick the opiate habit. I was prescribed Subutex today and feel a bit lousy on half a pill. I think I took it too close to my last opiate dose, Lorcet 10-650. Opiate withdrawal is an evil beast. My story is text book, beginning treatment for legitimate pain and four years later, I am facing addiction because my body will not let go. I am happily married with two wonderful little girls...and a two time Teacher of the Year. I am ashamed and embarrassed. I was so naive to think "I could handle it" and quit when I wanted to. The withdrawals from trying "cold turkey" were horrific. I am encouraged by those of you who have beat your addiction. Thank you...here I go. I have much to look forward to and cannot let a pill define my life.

Hello all. I am just like most of you on here. I was prescribed lortab 10's about 8 years ago for various football injuries. I was 33 at the time and had had 7 knee surgeries (4 reconstructions & 3 scopes). Also, my lower back felt like someone had a saw in there & was sawing me in half. I played football from 3rd grade thru college & had lots of injuries. Well, the old family doc tells me I am at that point where I am going to have to take one or two a day to make it. A year later, 4 to 6 he said would be safe. Jump up to year before last (6 years after my good ole family doc got me started), ole doc referred me to a neurosurgeon. He tells me I have to have a discectomy. That will take care of the leg & back pain and in a month or two, you will be pain free and taking pain pills no more. Now we skip ahead to this past Christmas. Neurosurgeon tells me there is so much damage in my back that I have to have all lumbar fused. Seeing as my foot had went to sleep the week before & hadn't woke up, I figured the sooner the better. I had the fusion done & HOLY HELL, when I woke up, I was in more pain than I thought a human could bare! I begged the dr to put me in a coma. When he laughed & said no then asked if he could do anything else, I said yeah, give me a gun! I came home from the hospital a week later with a prescription for OxyContin 40 & Percocet 10/325. 2 a day for Oxy & 6 a day Percocet. That was it until last month when I went to see him. I told him I had to do something. I have to work & I feel so guilty taking these meds at work. However, the fusion has not taken & I can not go thru that surgery again. Anyways, he said that there was nothing he could do if I refused the surgery & told me not to come back until I was ready for surgery. While at a friends house tonight, I took a Percocet & my bud's wife said she had a pill that really helped her. (She had fusion 2 years ago). Well, I took it too. Just put it in my mouth & swallowed. She then said I was supposed to put it under my tongue. She told me it was subu.. Something or other. She gave me 3 more. It is round, white & has 54 with 411 under it. So, I wrote all of that to ask this...am I about to get deathly sick? It was about an hour and a half ago. Also, what can I do? I would LOVE to not take anything but a multivitamin. However, I, like many of you, have REAL, not fake or minor pain. I do not get "high" when I take this crap. I don't take it for that. I do however take it so I can get out of bed and work. I have not missed a day of work since I went back after fusion (mid Jan). Now, here's where I am going to get bashed badly. I am a school teacher and coach. Yes, I have taken those meds while at school. I wen to my principal before I started back & told him what I was taking & signed a release for him to talk to my dr. He does not have a problem with my tking it. He came to my room & observed me the first week I was back. I keep the meds locked in his safe in his office & go in there when it is time for my meds. I STILL FEELso guilty for taking it & I want off. Someone PLEASE give me some advice that might help. I cannot afford to check into rehab. Sorry this is so long, but I have went 7 and a half years and this is the first time I have ever put to words my thoughts on it.

On the same note, if you guys are serious about getting off the dope, cold turkey is really the only way to go. I've known too many people who have "kicked" but have been taking subutex or suboxone for months or even years and have no plan or program in place to get themselves off it. In my opinion, it's just trading one addiction for another. You're getting off the "street drugs" and getting hooked on the "legal drugs." You're going from paying the street dealers to paying the pharmaceutical dealers. It's gonna suck, but if you really want to quit then you should go cold turkey.

In the last just 30 days I went from doing 3.5 grams of Herion, then winged off herion with IR 30's like 2 a day than one, now I got my hands on some Subutex, Sorry no under the tongue for me, the fact is people actually get addicted to the needle itself! Oh and I would never recommend anyone turning to Methadone for help, that craps worse than herion!

I agree, I think ur daughter is either using H or oxy or any other harder drug and using the Subutex as a way to comedwn. I have many friends that do the same thing including myself a while back! At low doeses it will keep her from getting DOPE SICK which every addict dreads! everything is horrible while tryin to kick any class A narcotic but the S-tex helps a lot! Confront her and have a heart to heart, dont just take her gear since this could cause her to lash out and even become angry, violent, or even suicidal! Trust me, there was a time in my life where my dad took and tossed my oxys dwn the toilet and I ended up knocking him out! be carfull and confront w/ love not anger since she has prob. been using for quite some time weather it be pot or H, or OXY? it doesn't matter, sit dwn and talk about it b4 we all make assumtions! lynn, the answer to your 2nd question, being, "why do people take it that dont need it", is very simple, yet you'll notice that none of the posters so far have taken pains to address the most important of your two questions. Your 1st question, being, "can you shoot this up", is important too, but not as important as your 2nd question. As I've already said, the answer to your 2nd question is so simple that it's a veritable no-brainer, and here it is in 1:

"We buy things we don't need, with money we don't have, to impre$$ those we don't even like!"

You've not said what you did with the suboxone and needle that you found in your daughter's room. One consolation is that if you found some suboxone plus a needle then it hadn't actually been consumed and maybe, just maybe, your daughter has decided not to actually take it.

I see a lot of people saying she's using heroin if she has Subutex or Suboxone in her room. I am currently going to a treatment center for pain pill addiction and I am on Subutex. It's not just for heroin users. Subutex is the way to go unless you don't trust yourself. If you think you would possibly use again, take Suboxone, which has a blocker in it and you will not get high if you use anything. You're just wasting money on the drug. I gave been an addict for 10 years and it all started from a simple doctors visit. I had gallstones and my doctor put me on Endocet (generic for Percocet) 10/650. 120 a month. After I got my gallbladder taken out, I was already addicted. So I kept getting them. If she had been a good doctor, she would have taken me off of them. But that's how it all started. It wasn't until recently that I decided that my life, marriage, kids, husband, and family were more important to me that drugs and I was not going to lose them. I have been clean 23 days now and feeling great. I forgot what it was like to feel normal. I'm loving my life!

Thanx for the pillz!! Damn I pop pillz for the thrills never knew it could kill!! But now I'm shooting my pillz up so 1 is never enough even a million is just a sample or not more than a year ago now there gone. ...... just like my friends and family disppear cuz my habit was to much for them but to was never enough! This is very true. Taking suboxone close to after using opioids will put your body into instant withdrawals. It contains Nalaxone which is the ingredient to which shocks your body and puts it into DT's. Taking subutext after using opioids on the other hand will not, due to the fact it does NOT contain the "blocker" known as Nalaxone. You can go about your day normally- not feeling horrible due to an opiate hang-over. My advise is not to take any suboxone OR methadone. Deal with your withdrawals and get over it naturally, and stay clean and live a slave-free life! It will steal your life! If you choose to use, please be careful.

I'm not going to tell you how to handle your daughters problem, you are her parent it is your job to help her and up to you to make the decision of which rout to take. Some bits of helpful advice. 1.)There are some good suggestions posted here by other people but unfortunately the HARD TRUTHis there is no £answer to your girls problem, at least no ONE SINGLE answer, people say to get her to the clinic and started on methadone andncounsking but to make sure she takes a low dose. Keeping the dose low is good advise but taking that rout is just as addictive with even worse withdrawals than oxy,heroine,subutex or suboxone,. Clinics are a legal way to keep people dosed up and high legally, while it can work it often does not because clinics notoriously over dose the patient. You can not go into a clinic and say you only want a 30mg dose it does not work like that. There is no easy way for her to quit without going through some seriously painful withdrawals, any option that enables the subject to stop the abusive drug the are taking without going through withdrawals Is in itself ADDICCTICTING.. IT IS A HARD TRUT TO ACCEPT BUT IT IS THE TRUTH....IT HAS FRUSTRATED ME FOR YEARS THAT WITH ALL THE WORLDSNTECHNOLOGY THERENIS NONEASY WAY TO CURE OPIATEVADDICT TION...... The best way osntonlook at every option....the pros and con's.....and to decide what is best..... use your knowledge of the kind of girl your daughter is to decide what rout to take. Do not include the subject in this process because she will do her best to convince you that the way she wants to do it is the best, that's bad because she's going to pick the easy way and try to getnypou to agree and OK it..I.E.. methadone clinic, seeing a doctor andgetting a a script. Of. Subutex. Or a script of suboxone.... Look into state detoxes, there five to seven days and they administer sub's resposbily and wean the patient down within three or four days instead of dragging it out....which does not work. The problem with that is when she gets out she will be completely sober....she won't be withdrawing but the itch to get high will still be there...rehabs...30 60 90 120 possibly could work but the majority have a low success rate....because as soon as the come home....guess what...?they go from a completely controlled environment to freedoms...they behave for the first week or two and then you start to trust her again and give her freedom and she realizes you trust her and in turn begins to think she can get away with it AND SHE BEGINES TO USE AGAIN. ONE THING ALL ADDICTAS SHARE IS THE UNCANY ABILITY TO TRICK THEMSELVES INTO THINKING THE NEXT TIME WILL BE DIFFERENT ANDNTHEY WILL CONTROLL IT THIS TIME.....A.A. IS AN OPTION BUT ALSO A LIFESTYLE, not that anything is wrong with that..... LASTLY AND BY FAR THE BEST OPTION IN MY OPION IS NALAXONE SHOTS...its only a blocker....its admistered and lasts for thirty days....this is fantastic because you continue to get it every month for 6 to a year or a year in a half....no side affect no addiction no bulls*** no nothing except a blocker that can't be gotten rid of.... This was you don't have to truest her BC it doesn't matter...she will try to get high and relazize she can't and tjhen the decion to not use isn't even in her control any more BC she can't even if she wants to BC oxy heroine sub's, snornting sniffing shooting will have no affect on her and usually after 7 or 8 months the subject without even trying stops thinking the way they did and without wanting to or trying to the subject changes into a normal person who dosent think about drugs ,let alone having to consiosly and constantly think about how they need to make the right decios to not use drugs that day....any ways let me know idpf u need any help going over options or weighing pros and con's best of luck god bless. Thank god someone that at least knows the basics if not the exact chemical analogies! I read forums for my own recreational activities and most of the s*** people say trying to answer and or correct other posters answers is completely wrong. What makes it worse is the errors are on subject matter than any person that considers themselves a "veteran" should know inside and out. The poster of this q should listen to this person DO NOT TAKE HER SUBS AWAY seriously if my parents tried doing that I would take an electrical cord from a large appliance fray the end plug it in and electrocute them while they were sleeping. It's s*** you just don't do to someone that's FUBAR you getting my drift? If you don't know withdrawal that's basically what you would be doing to her. Believe me she might even choose the cord if she got to keep the sub that's how serious it is. But yeah to all my fellow internet drug folks out there, do some real research instead of googling the question and then regurgitating whatever bulls*** you read backwards to the poor saps that believe what they read on the internet. I'm not saying I'm perfect for you no lifers that are already jumping for their keyboards ready to point out my mistakes or claiming I'm a know it all or just an angry person that likes calling people dumb but really about 5% of the crap I read on these forums have a inkling of reliable information. I have been clean for a year and 3 months and NO BODY WILL STOP UNTIL THEY R READY JUST STAND BY HER AND SUPPORT HER AND GET HER HELP.BUT DON'T PUSH OR SHE WILL PUSH AWAY. I AM ONLY 25 & DID HEROIN FOR 7 years. I am just now losing my cravings without being on ANYTHING I WILL PRAY 4 YALL....
