What Doctor?
Updatedmy husband broke his back his L 3 Vertebrata two years ago and was prescribed oxycodone from his sergeant and has been on this narcotic every since. And now he got a letter stating that he can no longer recieve his prescription from that sergeants office anymore and that he needs to go to his primary care physician and he does not have one.. So we decided to just try to get him off of the oxycodone and he started to fill really sick and his back was killing him so i guess what i am trying to figure out is what to do about the situation should we get him to a pain Management Doctor or should we go to a detox clinic? He really hates that he has to take a pain killer to function and when it wears off he fills really sore and gets the cold sweats and he needs another pill.. I have to get him in somewhere that can help him function everyday and not always need to take a pill when he gets up every 4 hours or so but we are just confused about what kind of doctor to see because we are also confused about being addicted or just really needing a narcotic for the rest of his life? because it is totally making him be dependent... He is about to run out of the last oxycodone that he has had so i need to make an appointment and get him help asap..
