Pill is white, small and oblong, with capital A over line with capital B, under it that is in script style print. Other side has only line across middle. Are Toprol Xl 50 Tablets From 2006-2008 Still Good To Use? They are in unsealed bottles. ## Once a medication such as this is past its expiration date, which would have been a year from when they were dispensed, or the bottles were unsealed, they start to lose effectiveness, so it is unlikely that they will be worth taking after this long of a time period. I have just noticed my hair is thinning on the top of my head.I use to have very thick hair. I already had my thyroid removed and take synthroid for years. What other drug can I take instead of toprol 50mg Xl ## Have you consulted your doctor? Toprol contains the active ingredient Metoprolol and since it has been proven effective, with a low risk of side effects in many people, it is often the first choice treatment medication for high blood pressure and heart conditions. However, some people like yourself do have problems with it. I experienced bad side effects, as well and what I was switched to was Carvedilol, because it is known to cause far fewer side effects. Thus, you might want to ask your doctor about trying it.

I have an inflamed tooth that is killing me. I take a beta-blocker (Toprol XL) which keeps me from taking NSIADs such as Alleve. (The active ingredient interferes with the blood pressure lowering effects of Toprol.) Will I have the same problem with Traumeel? ## Is anyone aware of an interaction between using Traumeel and Coumadin (blood thinner) or Phenytoin (anti-seizure) medications. ## I am on a blood pressure pill Lisinopril 20MG my blood pressure is under control. I had a RX for toprol, and the last time I mailed my request for a refill, they sent me metropolo. Is this a substitute for toprol? Thanks. white oblong,indent across center ## Makes him very constipated to where he has to use an enima and even that doesnt help all of the time. Suppose to be perscribed as a heart slowing pill, to slow down his heart beat. currently taking 50 mg of toprol xl x 2.. i was taking 25mg for awhile. i was put in the hospital for thurs - mon. they had to get my INR theraputic. also i ws taking 5 mg of warfarin. when they checked me i was .98 when i left i was up to 2.44. why when i left did they leave me on 5 mg of warfarin. that was mon. the 15 of feb. saw my famiy dr. on wed. he changed their Rx to two toprol xl. am and pm. plus the new med tekturna 125/25 mg. yest i exp muscle cramping really bad plus the dizziness. ## i have already explained. but i was very dizzy when they upped me from 50 mg. of the toprol to 100 mg. 50 mg x 2. plus they added tekturna 125/25. when i left mon. my inr was 2.44 and in a couple of days (thurs) i dropped to 1.5. why would they keep me on 5mg of warfarin? when i arrived at er a...

White oblong shaped pill, scored in the middle with E 282 on one side, is this Toprol xl 50 mg? ## Ive been taking Toprol XL 50 mg daily for the past 6 years. It was perscribed to me for my heart, I had experienced unsustained v-tach during my second pregnancy twice, and soon they discovered I had a small heart murmor. I want to get off of it. I recently experienced miscarriage and think it was caused by the Toprol. What is the proper way of tapering off of it?

Found mixed with rx bottle of Toprol XL 100mg EQ tabs. Bottle was labeled and contains Ethex brand eq tablets. The patient also has had Toprol XL 50mg and 100mg brand name tablets within the last year or so from more than one pharmacy. The m is very similar to the m on the toprol tablet with the AMO marking. Thanks in advance for any assistance. ## There is actually more than one tablet with the M 50 marking, there is one that is Toprol, but several that aren't. I take it along with Toprol XL, Tikyson, Paxil 60mg, clonipen what are the chances that one of these or the combination of these drugs be causing my impotence? Tiredness? ## Well impotence can be caused by most blood pressure medications and the Paxil you are taking, so it is hard to pinpoint which one it might be. I suggest speaking to your doctor, you may be able to adjust your medications to try to figure out which is having the worse effect on you and find an alternative that won't cause this problem.

Does Toprol XL 100 mg contain blood thinners? ## Toprol contains no blood thinners. Tou might be taking too much. I had to rachet up my dose but then down a little. I went from 50 mg to 100. Being too much I split the dose to half am then other 50 @ noon (with food). Eventually went to 200's, split dose, half am then other 100 mg @ noon (with food). New source of med. & prescription (different Dr.) is back to 100's. I take 1 am, other noon, think pills are by different manufacturer, so the slow rellease part of the formmulation is off a bit and I don't now what to do now. I think they release a bit faster, so I'll start with 50 am and an hour later the other 50, then 50 more after noon, etc. Oddly I took them originally for PVCs and it helped.
