Terrible Side Effects From Neurontin

I took Neurontin back in January 2014. I took the lowest dose for 4 days. I got severe face and neck tremors. Those eventually went away After seeing a Neurologist and medication. What has not gone away is my severe voice problem. Neurontin has ruined my voice. I have been to a Neurollogist, 2 ENT'S, 2 Voice doctors and have been to speech therapy on two separate occasions. If you look under Pfizer Neurontin side effects you will get a very detailed list of side effects including my side effects. I would never suggest anyone take this medicine because there are so many side effects and you don't know which ones you will get. And like me you don't know how long they will last. Remember mine started in Jan 2014 and I don't know if I will ever get my normal voice back. It really has been horrible. I wish Pfizer could be held accountable. I hope my story helps someone. Knowledge is essential when taking medications.

Hello, Darleen! How are you? I'm very sorry about what you've experienced.

Have they definitely tied it to the medication? Our bodies do change with time, so there's a chance that it was a change that would've happened anyway.

However yes, there is also a chance that it was due to the medication. But, since it is out there as a known possible side effect, the manufacturer has done nothing wrong. There are risks associated with all medications and, as long as they acknowledge those risks, they are in the clear. Sad, but true. It's only when they hide something, deny it or etc. that they can be held accountable.

How long were you taking it? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain.

Are you on any other medications?

I was taking lithium and klonipin for 8 yrs and still do. I have been Lithium Toxic before also. We won't let that happen again. Yes it was the Neurontin, that's when my symptoms happened. The thing about the side effects list. When you go on line and research side effects of Neurotin nowhere does it list the side effects I received. However when you go on the Pfizer Neurotin side effects site you will clearly see my side effects listed. I think that is sneaky. I can assure you I will never trust another med again except for the ones I'm on no matter what shape I'm in. My voice is ruined. I can only imagine what other meds including this one have done to people with horrible side effects or even allergic reactions. I probably sound harsh but living with this voice is just horrible. People can't even understand me on the phone. It has definitely changed my life. It's not worth the risk to try these types of meds (Neurontin off lable at one time and still may be), or pscychiatric meds because you don't know how your body will react. I'm sure I'm not the only one who expericed and still experiences these reactions. Thank you very much for responding.
