Take As Needed 4x A Day

I'm on 10 mg endocet 4x a day but it's prescribed as 4x daily as needed. I just need to know if that means that I don't have to take them 4x a day if I'm feeling ok?

Yes, that's exactly what it means, if there are times you don't need a dose, you don't have to take one, until you do.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

Thank you so much for responding back to me. And there is some thing I'm confused by, I've been on this med for about 9 years and I recently had to give my Dr a U/A for the first time which I had no problem doing but then I got a call from his office that my results were negative for the med and he would no longer prescribe it to me. I told him that it was wrong cuz I had taken 2 the day before and 1 the morning of my appt, it didn't make sense to me. I told him I'd even bring in the bottle with the pills in it to prove that I'm taking them and not abusing them and he told me that that doesn't help HIM and that I'm NOT taking them the way he prescribed them. I suffered for the last 16 years from partial to complete bowel obstructions due to severe abdominal adhesions and he's very aware of this. There are days that I can't even take any of my meds or sip water due to the intense vomiting. He had me come back 2 days after that call and take another drug panel and i haven't heard back from him and that was 12 days ago and my next appt is Monday. I just needed to know that I've been taking my med correctly and you answered that for me. Thank you again Verwon.
