I'm trying to find out what the Spanish names are for the medication I take. Will be moving the Central America and need to know the Spanish names for all the medications I take. ## What medications are they? Without knowing that, I really can't help you. However, if you can post back with more details, I'll gladly do some research and see what I can find to help. :-) ## Could you tell me the equivilent tablet to rosuva in spain ## Synthroid, Pravastatin, hydrochlorothiazide, Premarin, verapamil HCL Er, lorazepam, Trazodona. I have been taking Synthroid for about a year now. I started at 25 mcg and am now taking 175 mcg. My problem is, I still have racing pulse and headaches, they were infrequent, but have become more frequent in the past week or so. I also have sweat episodes. I take Tylenol pm to help me sleep, could this affect the Synthroid. Generally I just feel ill and nauseous with racing pulse for the past week or so. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you. ## You might want to talk to your Doc about taking a different type of medication like Westhroid or Naturthroid these are the natural types of thyroid meds that work very well for some people. Remember some medicine that works well for some people don't always work well for others, if the medicine ur taking is not working for u then its t...

I have been on 50 mcg of synthroid for a few months as I didnt know I even had a thyroid issue but this month after my labs were drawn they raised it to 88 mcg, what ate some factors that could affect it in such a way to increase it so much? My husband and I are trying to conceivr but nothing else has changed, no new meds, enviorment, etc. Plz help"!! ## It's really just your body, it's normal for your thyroid hormone levels to fluctuate sometimes and for the med to need to be adjusted. There are times they may lower it, or they may raise it, that's why they do the regular blood tests to check. There is no set dosage that always works for everyone, it's just something that needs to be constantly monitored and changed, as needed. If you're trying to get pregnant, ...

I would like to know the difference between mcg and mg. I am taking 88mcg's a day and now have a prescription for 0.05 mg's a day. I've been having trouble starting on a low of synthroid to treat sub-clinical hypothyroidism (TSH ~3.5, no values for T4/T3) for fertility reasons. I'm 33, generally healthy, not overweight, exercise daily and eat a healthy diet. Admittedly, I have been under considerable stress for many years and need to keep working on stress management. First attempt: I initially started taking 25mcg. I've taken the medication first thing in the morning with a full glass of water, not eaten anything for 2 hours and not taken any vitamins/supplements at the same time. 2 days after starting this dose, I began to have a racing heart rate, felt panicky, was very flushed and emotionally labile (crying for no reason/fly off the handle, not my typical emotional state). These symptoms worsened fo...

I had thyroid taken out in May of this year. Started taing generic version of synthroid-75mcg. I had no problems. Went in July to endo doc and tsh levels were 23 so she raised to 100mcg. Has my RAi-100miC-with no problems in mid July. Started getting chapped lips end of August. Endo doc attributed to not at correct TSH levels. Levels still high at 6 so medicine raised to 125mcg. I had 100mcg left so for 3 weeks took M-F 100mcg x 1 and then Sat and Sun took 100mcg x 2. Still having issues w lips so tried zinc oxide and hydrocortisone w some success. Went off medicine for 4 days and lips went back to normal. So seems like allergic reaction. Since still having problems tried generic non dye pill and that did not work. I then did round of 6 day pack of prednisone and was on name brand Tiros...

I had been taking synthroid for 4 months at 50mg a day but about 2 weeks ago I stopped taking it because my insurance expired and I am unable to pay for the doctors visit or prescription. About a week and half ago my feet and ankles started swelling and have now swollen to the point where the skin is so tight and they are so big I can't get my shoes on and can hardly walk. Is this caused by not taking my synthroid? ## Hello, Michelle! How are you doing? Has there been any change? If your thyroid issue is going out of control, it is possible that it is what's causing the edema, according to the NIH. Stopping the medication abruptly could also have caused a rebound effect, which threat your thyroid function off even more than usual and made the situation even worse. Such edema, ho...

Has anybody successfully weaned themselves off of thyroid medication by compensating through diet? ## Hello, Maria! How are you? Yes, some people have, though it is a pretty touchy situation to deal with, according to the NIH, because the way you eat and exercise may need to be changed up, or down, at any given time, depending on what your thyroid hormone levels test at. Many people just don't like having to deal with the regular fluctuations, one month the levels may be high, so they have to adjust to lower them, then the next time, they may be too low, so they have adjust, again. It can be a huge burden... but I do have to say, given that you will no longer be dealing with medication side effects, it might be worth it. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking Synthroid 112 mcg for six months following a total thyroidectomy and I experience confusion, hard time concentrating, night sweats, problems walking (like a drunken sailor), general "spaced out" feeling, and awful depression. I think the dose is wrong, but doctor just looks at TSH numbers (last TSH was 2..53 and T4 was 1.6) and says everything is OK. It is not! I don't know what to do... ## Don't let any dr tell you what your body needs - figure it out yourself. I have had a thyroid condition since i was 8 years old (going on 42) and over the years many dr's have given their opinions about what to do, try this or that and come back in 6 months! I'm unsure of who to believe. I still hear that the generic is not as effective as the brand and I have heard this from some very prominent, famous physicians, however, my pharmacy says that it is the same. What is the real answer? I'm sticking to brand until I hear better. ## I personally have problems with some generics that don't work the same as name brands. I can't trust generic coumadin for instance to be consistant in its strength,My wife has the same problem with generic BC pills, some work O.K. others don't. even though they say they are the same formulary. So in answer to your questions I believe it depends on the individual. ## I tried the generic and it did not work for me. My daughter-in-law tried it and really got messed up with it. Can i take percacet and synthroud at same time? ## Hello, Judu! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, so it should be fine, as long as they have both been prescribed for you. The FDA classifies Percocet as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Synthroid may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, weight changes and hair loss. Is there anything else I can help with?

Yes, it is normal to change your dosage, or have you skip doses to try to keep you in the normal range and you should follow your doctor's instructions. I'm taking 200mcg daily and once in a while have trouble remembering to take it. My question is, how many days would you have to miss for it to be "reset" and have to wait that 6ish weeks for it to start taking effect again? I've missed 5 days in a row and am worried I screwed myself over and will have to wait a while to start seeing changes ## Hello, Kaym! How are you? If you haven't been taking it steady, then you're likely already at the point where you'll need to take it regularly for 4 to 6 weeks for it to reach its full level of efficacy. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes and hair loss. Do you have a smart phone? I want to make sure these pills work together not against each other. My blood pressure is in the range of 165/89 still and I feel dizzy. ## Hello, Pat! How are you? For lowering your blood pressure, the two that work together here are the Lisinopril and the Furosemide. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, dehydration and hypotension. How long have you been taking them? It will take awhile for them to reach their full levels of effectiveness in your body to see how well they work for you. Do you also watch your sodium intake and get plenty of exercise?

I have taken thyroid medicine for most of my life, but just recently I have noticed that my Synthroid , 100 Mcg pill has a sugary, sweet taste to it. Why has this occurred, and what exactly is the reason for it? ## Hello, Einnor! How are you? Some manufactured use sugars or a sweetener in some medications. What are the markings on it? That would enable me to check the specific ingredients for you. However, you also should not be tasting your pill. If you're tasting it, then you're not taking it properly. The pill should be placed as far back on your tongue, as possible, short of choking on it and then immediately swallowed with water.

Is 270mgs a lot more than137mgs ## Hello, John! How are you? Synthroid is dosed in micrograms, not milligrams. But yes, that's almost twice the dosage. Has your doctor prescribed this amount? Does anyone have any experience taking 50mg Synthroid and 300mg Venlaflaxine? ## Hello, Tina! How are you? I've not taken them, but I did check for any interactions or problems and it seems there are none listed, though it's always best to double check such information to be sure. Have they both been prescribed for you? The FDA lists the typical side effects of Synthroid as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, hair loss and weight changes. Venlafaxine is an SNRI antidepressant and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Can anyone that's been on them chime in?
