Sprintec Missed White Pills And Spotting (Top voted first)

Updated

This month I skipped the white pills so I wouldn't have my period. Instead of the white pills I went right to the new pack of blue pills. The sunday the white pills would have stopped, I started to spot, it's not a full period but it is annoying and has now been going on for a little more than a week. Is this normal, how long should the bleeding last, is is okay to be taking the blue pills while on my "period"???

Basically, your body was expecting that one week break from hormones and it didn't get it, you continued to take the hormone tablets. It is normal to have some spotting and breakthrough bleeding, when this occurs.

I can't say how long it will last, for some people, it could be several weeks.

And yes, it is okay to take them while you are having the bleeding and you will still be protected against pregnancy.

Continuing the active pills to skip your period is fine, but it doesn't always work for everyone.

Have you tried asking your doctor about trying a different type of contraceptive tablet? There are many on the market and you are sure to find one that works better for you.

This is happening to me too. My doctor has no problem with going right into the next pack. I switched in July from Yasmin to Sprintec and it worked just fine up until now. My doctor says my body probably has had enough of me skipping my period. It's been spotting for a little over a week now on the blue pill. I think I'm going to change my pill if this doesn't stop. At first, I started worrying that I may be pregnant seeing how this has never happened before, but I feel no changes and its been a month since I've been active. Just ride it out, or go to the doctor if you're worried. I might just so I don't have this issue again. I know Yasmin has had lots of issues but I miss it!

Do you start your period when you are taking the white pills, or do you start your period after the white pills heading to the blue pills? I started spotting while I'm on the white pills, but I don't know if I'm on my period and have a not heavy flow?
