I have been on By Mycin for 5 days and have finished my prescription. I found that my body developed a slight smell while on the drug. Is this a side effect of By Mycin and if so how long will the smell last.
Thanking you,
Rosemary Traynor

Hello Rosemary,

I can't find any reputable sources stating body odor as a side effect of By-Mycin, which contains the main ingredient Doxycyline. However, that doesn't mean it isn't a side effect since everyone has different body chemistry and can therefore react differently to medications. My only guess is that it could possibly be a yeast infection, as those are quite common after taking antibiotics and can cause an unpleasant odor.

You can learn more about this drug on the page for Doxycycline Details

I hope this helps in some way!

I was prescribed By-Mycin 50mg by my dentist. 11 days in I stopped taking them because of severe stomach cramps. That was 4 weeks ago and the cramps are getting worse. These things should be taken off the market.
