Side Effects From Simbrinza. (Top voted first)

Updated

Does anyone using these eyedrops feel like a zombie? I am lethargic, lightheaded, and so tired. Has anyone experienced these symptoms? Thanks.

My consultant for ease of use moved me from Brinzolomide and Brinmodine (same as Simbrinza only in separate bottles) in October 2015, in January 2016 I noticed a stinging sensation in the corner of bottom eyelid. The severity increased for 3 months and caused severe scabbing along lower eyelid along with stinging and redness to skin around the eye, it is now July 2016 this has now spread to the other eye. Although the pressurers have decreased considerably, the stinging/redness is now becoming an issue of importance, so I may have to consider another eye drop.

Hello, Ann! How are you?

Those can be side effects of this medication, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience blurred vision, shortness of breath, trouble swallowing and throbbing pain.

Trevor, most eye drops can cause issues like you've experienced and yes, if they are that bad, you may need to try something else. What has your doctor said about this issue?

Hello Verwon
I have made several visits to my local eye casualty recently as for me to get an appointment with my G.P will take about 5 weeks.
I was advised to see a dermatologist as it was thought to be a skin problem, however, he thought as I do not have any skin problems anywhere else he thought it was a reaction to certain chemicals in the eye drops and suggested a patch test ( £300) a return visit to my eye consultant said it was Allergic Localized Contact Dermatitis and I must carry out eyelid cleaning programme as for Blepheritis , although the scabbing along lower eyelids has cleared I am now trying to get rid of the redness of the skin condition.
Another visit to eye clinic next week followed by visits to glaucoma clinic and more questions will be asked to try and resolve the remaining issues.

Yes! Just started taking these drops again after a 5 week hiatus, and noticed that they make me feel tired and sluggish!
