I'm at risperidone 1 mg, due to an acute psychosis. I'm taking drugs since 3 years or so... More or less 1 year ago i was taking risperidone but then i changed drug and after i stopped taking risperidone i had dyskinesia. Now i'm taking again risperidone and i don't have dyskinesia but i think is because dyskinesia goes out when you re-take risperidone indeed some people after they realize they have dyskinesia they restart taking risperidone to get rid of it. My doctor said it's time to go down with drugs because i'm okay. The problems are two: 1) If i decrease the risperidone dose i'm sure i will have dyskinesia because when i stopped the first time with risperidone i had dyskinesia. 2) The dyskinesia will worsen because i can't change drug but just decr...

Large tan oblong pill with L on one side and R on the other. Any idea what it is? ## The closest match I'm finding to this description is that of a large white oblong pill, with "R" and "1" spaced apart on the front of the pill. The back side of the pill reads "JANSSEN". This pill is identified as an antipsychotic medication, Risperdal 1 mg. Manufacturer: Janssen Pharmaceuticals National Drug Code (NDC): 50458-0300 I know it doesn't completely match your pill, but it's closest thing on the web that I can find. Has anyone else seen this pill before? ## I found this pill. it is a 7 so they say, and an R. its a Seroquel 400mg.

My son started on 0.5 mg 4 days ago.. I haven't noticed any change in his behaviour at school but at home he seems to b very quite and drowzy.. is there a reason for him to b different at school?? He has been diagnosed with Autisim/aspergers.. ive heard and read a lot of nasty things about this drug and im quite concerned. . I understand that it takes a few weeks to have the full effect.. he also has a sleeping dissorder!! He wakes extremely early sometimes 3 in the morning.. will this help him sleep better and could this put him in a zombie like state?? What dosage is most common? ? Doc gave me 200 Mgs of seraquel at night plus 1 mg of risperdAl In the day And 2mgs of risperdal at night and raised paxil to 40 Mgs I have severe anxiety OCD and PTSD depression I am terrified if this combo please respond ## Hello, Theresa! Is that a short enough time to just stop taking it please let me know urgent I was at 1.5 Mgs max dose per day ## Hello, Theresa! How are you doing? How badly do you react to suddenly stopping such medications? Risperdal is a very potent antipsychotic and usually the best way to stop them to avoid rebound effects, even after a short period of time is via a slow taper. Learn more Risperdal details here. My son was doing fine for a few weeks on Risperdal and is now feeling lifeless and has much anxiety. Are there any success stories someone can share with me? ## What dosage is he on? i am quite worried about a hospital my son is in. He is 10 yrs old and was taken there on bad judjement he made by taking a air gun(unloaded) to school to protect himself from some neighborhood bullies. He has been kept there against our will, because dfs got involved and threatened to take him from us if we did not let him go there to be evaluated. He is still there after 3 weeks and counting, after we have asked them to let him go in his local doctors care. I saw him today, they have him on risperdal 2mg 2 xs daily and depacote 375 mg 2 xs daily. He is severely slurred in his speech and very sleepy and Im very scared what they are doing to him. 2 weeks ago my daughter took an over dose of 40 Risperdol tablets She pulled through but is off balance, from time to time very bad memory most of the time she cannot remember what she is doing or want to say or do, blured visioen even with her contact lenses or glasses and very tired. Is this long term effects or will it improve over time. ## What has her doctor said about it? Risperdal is very potent, so taking that many tablets means she had to have taken a very large amount, thus it is possible that some of the damage may be permanent. Some may improve with time, but there is really no way for anyone on here to say, since this site is not familiar with her medical history and prognosis.

In the past three days my 70 year old mother has showed mildly increasing signs of paranoia. This was only after having her Risperdal medication reduced three weeks ago per FDA law for nursing home patients. How is this FDA law in her best interest? ## I've never heard of such a law, normally the FDA does not mess with what the doctor's decide is the best dosing and treatment. I find myself having to ask, have they shown you proof of this being a law? I can't see as how this would be in any patients best interest, whatsoever, especially not at her age. ## my son was given 1125mg of diwa every day and he developed hissing sounds in is ears the doctor reduced the dose 750mg a day and soltus 200mg a day will this again triger ocm and panic attacks

My friends husband has been given this drug and he is in much worse condition then he was before he took it, ## Risperdal contains the active ingredient Risperidone and unfortunately, like any medication, it doesn't work for everyone that tries it and can cause some people to experience the opposite of the desired effect.
