Hi Esther,

"The Usual Adult Dose" of Amoxicillin for a Urinary Tract Infection is listed as follows:

250 to 500 mg orally 3 times a day for 3 to 7 days; alternatively, 500 to 875 mg orally twice a day may be administered

Learn More: Amoxicillin Details

I hope this info helps!

To treat a urinary tract infection, for how many days and what doses of Kymoxin (Amoxicillan), 250 mg, should an individual take? Does it depend on whether the patient is a male/female?

I have been urinating this day with increased frequency. Later in the afternoon, there is pain in the tip of my genitalia. After another salvo of urination I noticed a drops of blood at the end. I suspect that I have a UTI. Please advice. I am male, 46 years old.

I have reoccurring bladder infections and became resistant to macrobid several years back so my doctor put me on amoxicillin the last time I had a uti. I still have some amoxcicillin left as she prescribed it as a post coital treatment for preventative measures. I have a really terrible uti and am taking 500 mgs 3 times a day for about a day and a half. The pain had subsided all day yesterday but now I am awake in the night with pain again. Can I take 1000 mgs at one time and will that help? Or do I have to go in and be seen? We are without insurance and have no money at this time. Wondering if I can just double the 500 mg amocicillin dose I am on and knock it out or if it is normal for pain to come back suddenly after a day and a half on treatment and I should just wait it out?

I have a UTI , I have a whole bottle of amoxicillin 500mg leftover from the doc that I never used.

***How many times a day do I need to take it? And how many days total do I need to take it to cure this urinary tract infection? ***

I can't go to the doc, I don't have insurance and don't have the money to go.

I am in so much pain, and I need to urinate so bad but I can't and when I do it's only a little bit and it hurts so bad.

Thank you in advance for your response
