The doctor told me that i have seborrheic dermatitis. my skin was dry and peeling. but since i used it my skin is so better and beautiful. Does that mean that i have to use it for life time? ## How long you should use it, is really something that only your doctor can advise, since there are many different factors at play, such as your overall health, how much of it you're using, other medications you might be taking, and etc. Persivate is a topical steroid class medication, and it may cause side effects, such as skin redness, irritation, and a burning sensation. Is your doctor monitorin...

They are a year old and don't seem to be working. I'm half way through this batch. I.have a new batch now. Should I start the new batch now? Thanks ## Yes, they can lose efficacy if exposed to such conditions, so it would likely be best to take the new supply. The typical side effects of Prednisone may include nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, anxiety, acne, and insomnia. My mother-in-law has to take it, once in awhile, for her severe asthma, and I always told her not to even keep it in our bathroom, so she now keeps all her medications in a cabinet in her bedroom. If it still doesn't he...

My doctor just prescribed two drugs for two different conditions, prednisone for severe poison ivy and ciprofloxacn for a urinary infection. After doing a bit of research, it is my understanding that prednisone should not be taken when there is an infection. Should I take them both? (Prednisone dosage: 5mg each tablet; 10 tablets daily for 2 days, reducing to 9/2days; 8/2days; 6/2days; 4/2days; 2/2days; 1/2days. Cipro dosage: 500 mg; 1 tablet twice daily for 14 days) ## You shouldn't take it if you have an active fungal infection that you are taking oral medications for, and it can make it easier for you to develop an infection, but it is fine to take if you're doctor has prescribed it for you, and is monitoring your condition regularly. The FDA lists the typical side effects of...

I have been on 15mg Prednisone now for 10 months and my team of specialists want me to quit cold turkey will this cause issues for me? I tried to reduce down to 13mg a while back but suffered severe back oain and confusion after only reducing by 2mg... ## Lani --- i don't think its a good idea to go off Prednisone cold turkey. Your adrenal system needs to adjust slowly -- reducing by 11/2 to 2 mg a week would be better until your down to 5 mg. Then you might be able to stop cold turkey. ## I actually agree but today they went ahead and did it anyway so I am no longer allowed to have any prednisone. My blood pressure has dropped and I tried to use a zimmer frame to walk with (because I was dizzy and light headed and the lower back pain was horrendous) and that was fine until I sat on...

My regular exercise is a 45 min walk in a park. I am non smoker, but do have alcohol. Will the use of Predmet every 45 days (ave) put me in a high risk zone? ## Hello, Sambuddha! How are you doing? Well, you shouldn't take it, unless your doctor instructs you to do so. But, sometimes with these breathing issues, it is needed rather frequently. I had to take high doses of prednisone for 3 1/2 months to breathe. I never took opioids with prednisone or in the physical condition I’m in after getting hit with the effects of 9/11 4-5 years ago. For the first time in my life I had extreme memory issues, and I think the time to worry is when it hits your finances which can make you very careful and you lose every single thing you put down especially if you just moved again since my house didn’t sell, it has been more than a nightmare and I am thrilled to see my neurologist tomorrow and ask many questions including the reasons I feel like a throwaway at the World Trade Center when no one cared to look when I lost 46 pounds in one month and instead of having skin hanging from the bottom of my own that hangs from where my bi...

I use it to contol lung problems. What are the risks associated with the pill? ## My mother-in-law has taken this pill (Ambophyllina) for 20 years and it really helps her lung problems. I'm to start prednisone 20 mg today and go down. Now I'm on 40 mg methadone. Should I spread it out cause I'm seeing different posts about it messing with the methadone. Yes, Prednisone may reduce the efficacy of your Methadone, so you may experience some withdrawal effects, according to the FDA, they may include nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea and rebound pain.
