This is a just a supplement that is prescribed when someone is severely low in the vital nutrients it contains, Potassium and Calcium.

They are very important to your body and being deficient in them has the potential to cause some serious health problems, some of which could be life threatening.

It can be harsh on the stomach, so it may cause nausea and stomach pain, thus it is best taken with food.

Are there any other questions?

I have pain in my leg and my hands feel like they are swollen. Would this be a symptom of low potassium?

The symptoms you describe should be evaluated by a physician. Do not try to guess at the cause and self-treat. You may make things worse and harder for your doctor to find the problem. Do not delay seeing your doctor.
