I've been clean from alcohol for 30 hours. I've had a gallon of water yesterday and one before testing. I also drank a creatine mixture to raise my levels. Do you think I'd pass an EtG?

Its hard to calculate exactly what your peak etg level was after 6 'strong' drinks, but to give you an idea, 1 standard drink... (in your case a standard drink is 1.5 ounces of 40% alcohol, but im not sure exactly how much alcohol was in each drink)... can produce 5000-8000 ng/ml of ETG in your system and peak about 9-12 hours after your last sip of alcohol. After your peak its half life is every 2-3 hours. So for example, using the higher numbers to give you worse case scenario:

-6 drinks × 8000ng/ml etg = 48,000 ng/ml etg at about 12 hours from when you stopped drinking. Divide 48,000 by 2, every 3 hours after the 12 hour peak, until it's below your cutoff level of the test whether the cutoff is 250 or 500ng/ml.

Ex: say you stop drinking 6 standard drinks at 6pm (friday); 6pm + 12 hrs = 6am (saturday), so at 6 am saturday you'd have a peak etg level of ~48,000 ng/ml.

6am + 3 hrs = 9am (half life kicks in); 48,000 ÷ 2 = 24,000 ng/ml.

12pm - 12,000 ng/ml
3pm - 6,000 ng/ml
6pm (24 hour mark) - 3,000 ng/ml
9pm - 1,500ng/ml

12am (Sunday) - 750ng/ml
3am - 375ng/ml
6am- 187.5ng/ml.

This is based off of multiple studies I've read up on and from people's personal experience. I personally think you should be okay if it has been over 60 hours from your last drink and you're staying hydrated with water. It's a close call but I've heard of people passing after 48 hours and they got hammered. If you don't drink habitually I think you'll pass. Let us know your results and goodluck!

I had two 12 oz 8.1% beers
two 12 oz 5.9% beers
three 12 oz 4.2% beers
one 16 oz 6.2% beer
and one shot of Patron tequila
all together that was nine drinks from 12pm Friday to 7pm Friday.
nothing Saturday to today (Tuesday) and had a ETG test at 1pm
I was very active Sunday and Monday. Drank lots of coffee and water on the rest of the days. I calculate 80 hours from being sober.
I should be ok, right??

I passed my test after 42 hours!! I do have another tomorrow, but this time 59 hours have passed!

If is cut off 500 you should be negitve, If it's a lower cut off it could be positive.

I haven't heard back from my officer so assuming I passed. Usually they would notify right away if something is off. I'll keep ya posted though but I believe I'm in the clear.

So after failing several tests I’m finally in a treatment program and done drinking! I have 23 days sober but somehow I keep getting low levels of ETG showing up on my Tests and my probation officer is skeptical of my sobriety. What could be causing this?

I am no expert by far, if I was I would not have failed this test way back. One guy that goes to this must attend programs, claims to drink everyday but, only recently failed an ETG. He says that he drank prior to reporting in for the test (really dumb in MHO). Myself, I have stayed sober, a sip, and I mean only a sip here and there. I do enjoy NA BEER on a regular basis, not odouls, or Coors, but companies like Becks, St Paul I Girl, even Guinness has an NA BEER. Probation is the only reason I haven't been drinking and when off I will drink "real" beer again. During all of this, I have been doing a lot of research on ERG; the 80 hour test seems to be not so true and I would venture to say 60 hrs to be more accurate. Now many things fall into place, chronic drinkers will likely fail easier than a lite drinker and a heavier person could probably get away easier than a skinny person. Regardless if a person is on probation, they probably shouldn't be drinking! In AZ, the tests are normally done through TASC, look up the hours of operation, most that I have seen close 7:00 pm on weekdays and 12 noon on weekends. Use the time to your advantage if you must drink. Also drink plenty of water the day of but cut it out a few hours prior to wiz. Another thing, max out on a multivitamin, it makes your pee yellow! When drinking water use Creatine Supplements as much as you can. I normally drink a shot of apple cider vinegar with the "mother" everyday, but don't think that has any effect. Okay, I failed twice, once genuine drinking and got 2 days jail for that, another time was because of a barrel I was cleaning out to make a compost bin, it had a few gallons of antifreeze in it and the best way to explain was inhalation, and absorption through skin, after one prior failure that was no "excuse" to the PO. Once caught you will be guilty always! Also remember that many household, automotive, laundry, and cleaning products do contain alcohol. This information can be found on the internet. I hope this can help you, but the best is to abstain.

Most studies are often only mentioning last drink. True. But it is important to know as long alcohol is in bloodstream the liver is metabolizing, therefore still producing ETG. This is why even environmental products can cause a positive and MRD cannot differentiate between alcohol use and incidental exposure on lower levels.
I always recommend to know you are 00 before calculating your possible ETG. Just as a safer precaution.

Six shots of vodka over 3 hours ETG in the range of 10,000 ng/mL –100,000 ng/mL. Peaked at 16 hours and detectable for 54 hours

8 16oz 3.2% beers 50 hrs since last drink. I figure that equates to 11 1/3 13oz 3.2% beers. Have. It been tested but like clockwork my number is called on mondays. Where do you think I stand on ETG/ETS pass or fail

Well Here I go, Hoping to get off probation early, I have done everything possible to be clean. No drinking, never done drugs, you know, being good. so I go to a meeting with PO and had been informed the my UAs for a couple months had been watered down to a point that the ETG didn't test clean but didn't test Dirty. So if this test is so reliable because of "Liver Enzyms" how in the world can a sample be watered down? To me its another example of a faulty test.

So basically, it's against the law to drink too much fluid while being on probation. Meaning your samples have been diluted so the test can't read it. I've had 3 diluted samples while being on probation and my probation officer sent me to jail for 30 days for it.

you have a good shot. As long as you kept hydrated. Typically, anything over 48 hours your ETG levels decreased tremendously. Let us know your results

Just posting this to give folks in a similar situation to mine some peace of mind. I wish people would post more results. Anyways. I'm on probation and as a requirement I have to take monthly 8-panel/ETG tests (not random, as I am only tested at my appointments). I made a mistake and over-hydrated before my test last month and was randomly called in two weeks later to re-test. I was pretty stressed because I had drank 4 12. oz 4% abv beers the previous night (Tuesday) from 9p-12a. I had to test Thursday morning at 10a. Giving me probably about 30 hours with 0 BAC. All day Wednesday I just drank water all day to the point I was running to the bathroom pissing clear every 30 minutes. I took a few cranberry pills as well. I am not a particularly active person and did not do anything I wouldn't normally do other than drinking a larger amount of water than normal. I didn't drink much of anything the day of (so as to not be diluted again) and gave my second void of the day. I'm not sure of the cutoffs of my lab but I'm assuming it's a pretty sensitive test seeing as I had to sign an abstinence contract saying I wouldn't use things that might offset the test like hand sanitizer and mouthwash. Anyways, I passed. I'm a moderate to heavy drinker (I don't drink everyday but when I do I usually drink to get drunk. Whoops). Around 5'9" 150 pounds. Average to fast metabolism. And I'm a female in my early 20's.
