My mother who is a heart patient and had had an open heart surgery was prescribed pan 40! But by mistake she took pantop 40.so could you please let me know whether there is any difference between these? ## Same case happened with me ....doctor prescribed pan40.....medical person given pantop40..... I asked then he replied both have not much difference.. We were receiving the Pantoprazole 40mg EC tablets, yellow~oval~w434. The last refill we received the Pantoprazole 40mg DR tablets, white~oval~KU181. These do not seem to be working as well as the original ones. We were trying to locate the differance between EC and DR. We did discover the DR means delayed release, but found no info on EC.
