(Newest replies first)

Updated

What are the best times to take Nucynta ER? I take it in the morning but it wears off in the afternoon and I don't feel well.

I was put on nucynta when my med coverage went into the hole. I never got any relief from it, therefore I stopped taking it. I thought maybe it takes a long time to break down so I tried to find out. One in water took 32 hours and one in grapefruit juice took 30 hours. When dissolved, it was a thick snotty looking substance. I decided not to put it in my body. The copay on it was still 70.00 I'm so fed up with the crap we're being given.

Re: Verwon (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

All pain meds have a risk of addiction but these new time released meds are pure garbage, and your doctor won't increase the dosage there not allowed to by law . I'm having back surgery and they give me two 36 mgs of Xtampza ER and this is supposed to control my pain after major back surgery the Xtampza is pure garbage and I'm not looking for a high I just want to be out of pain is that to much to ask for??

Nucynta is a time released pill so this is why it doesn't work well. nowadays with the war on opiates chances are you won't be giving a narcotic that works well for pain it's very sad for people like me who suffer daily with chronic pain thanks to all the people that kept abusing the meds!

There are really no best times to take it, it depends on what works for you. If it's wearing off fast, you may need a dosage adjustment, or you might need to try a different medication.

The FDA warns that Nucynta carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Is this the only medication you are currently taking?
