Need Methodone Dr. And Advice

Ive been on methodone for chronic pain for the past 9 years and on the same dose of 60mg a day for the past 6-7 yrs. ive been dealing with chronic pain for the past 11 yrs since i was only 25 yrs old after suffering for the 1st two yrs i was prescribed methodone which helped tremendously. Then 1yr ago i was disgnosed with yet another painful disease-rheumatoid arthritis so as i was in more pain i started to talk to dr about an increase since i have been on same dose for long & i started complaining about being in alot more pain so eventually she started talking to my rheumatogist who is so anti-pain medicine & she was slowly but surely talking my dr into getting me off of it. The last straw was 1-1/2 mos ago when my car was broken into all of my meds were stolen police were involved it was 100% ligite i had police report for her( nothing like that has ever happened in all the yrs ive been on it) so she did give me another script but also decided she didnt want to give it to me anymore not only bc of that but also bc of rheumatologists advice so she sent me to a pain clinic only to taper off & she said if i didnt want to taper then i would have to find another dr to prescribe it i had no choice but to go to there bc i dont have another dr i want to switch dr.s anyway just bc of the way she handled this & also for stupid things shes done in the past but im afraid if i try to find a new dr she will reject me & think im just "looking for pills" as most dr.s do. So 1question is how do i find a dr to help me does anyone know of a dr in winchester,woburn or stoneham mass.?? Also since they started tapering me 2 weeks ago its been really hard they say i wont notice a diff in 5mg but thats so not true..they really have no idea unless they have experienced it themselves...so i really couldnt take it most of the week i took my usual dose & now i ran out & cant get my script for 5 days...i need help or advice ive never had to go more than 1-2 days without anything so im so scared of these withdrawels as you all know they are so awful..ill never be able to last 5 days & function...anything i can do to help it??

Dear Kenndall B, I'm sorry 2 hear what is going on with u. My advice would b 2 get another Dr. Or go 2 a pain management Dr. Or clinic. There r some good Drs. Out there who will understand you're situation. Try looking on the web 4 a Dr. Maybe under pain management.com and put where you're from. It should lead u 2 a Dr.GOOD LUCK!

Any new dr will want to get a copy of your medical records. A lot depends on what your previous drs have written in your medical records. You should get a copy of your medical records first so you will know exactly what they say about this. You will need to go to a Pain Management Dr or Clinic to be treated for the pain. Also, it is Not a good idea to ask for any certain med because it is a red flag.
