Muscle Pains Taking Atorvastatin And Lisinopril
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I've been experiencing muscle pain while taking Atorvastatin / Lisinopril, and have to take Co-Codamol just to be able to move and do simple jobs. I don't want to take statins at all, but I do take coQ10 60mg. Please advise.

Dr. David Brownstein is one of the best docs in the U.S. in my book. So if you really want a good picture of the evils of statin drugs, just enter the following into searh". "Dr. David Brownstein and the dangers of statins." You will find some excellent info from him. I am a Pharmacist with 50+ years of experience, and Dr. Brownstein is one of the best MDs I have encountered.

Good that you are taking CoQ10, but not enough. Anyone on statins should take at least 200 mg per day. And try to get off those statins if you can. If you are over age 60, the side effects multiply.

Please Google for ALL the many side effects of statin drugs. The benefits are none to minimal and risk of harm is high.

My advice is to cease taking this drug after you inform your doctor. Statins attack our muscles, and that includes our heart, which is our No. 1 muscle. That is a major reason why cardiac failure rates have zoomed since the introduction of statins.
There is plenty of evidence that statins have very little, if any benefit, and lots of risks. Yes, they reduce cholesterol, but there is no significant change in mortality as a result. Not a good scenario. Do your research on the internet, and you will see that the RELIABLE and SCIENTIFIC data confirms my point.

It is most likely due to the Atorvastatin, it is well known to cause joint/muscle aches in some people that take it, according to NIH reports.

How long have you been taking it? It may also cause nausea, dizziness, and headache.

Have you informed your medical provider of this issue? You may need to try a different medication.
