My mum has been on Mirtazapine one week for anxiety and to all her family looks la lot worse and has very dark thoughts. She can also hardly see due to blurred vision and not being able to deal with bright light. The GP says vision is due to tablets but not if it will improve. Anyone else experienced this?

is aggression and suicidal thoughts a side effect of mirtrazapine ## Mirtazapine is a tetracyclic antidepressant and yes, there are some instances where this class of medications has been known to actually cause these types of symptoms, rather than alleviate them. The person taking it should contact their doctor immediately, because it is probably not the right medication for them to use and they more than likely have to try something else. I am told she will get better but im sorry i dont believe this at all. She is now hearing voices she says that stops her doing things but i believe these are just thoughts. I've been taking mirtazapine for years and it's always worked for me. The last time I got it refilled I got a different looking pill, and I don't think it's working. This one is a white capsule-shaped pill with the letter A on one side and the number 10 on the other. The label says Aurolife is the manufacturer. The pills I used to get were round white pills. Could I have gotten the wrong pill? Is it possible that this manufacturer's version just doesn't work for me? ## A tablet with that description and marking does contain 45mgs of Mitrazapine. However, there can be some differences in generic medications. The FDA does allow them to differ from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20% of the active ingredient. SInce they measure only against the name brand...

I'm not sure if i feel better or worse. Upon taking this drug it has somewhat wiped my depressed mood and anxious feelings but this has been replaced with constantly feeling exhausted. My head feels very spaced out with feelings of being detached from reality at times. I also feel constantly tired with little motivation in doing anything....feeling rather cranky with others. I do hope this passes soon as it's hard work in managing this state of affairs. ## You might want to see if your pharmacy carries another manufacturer's generic mirtazipine. I've suffered through the same symptoms of drowsiness, and dullness through the day. Even with doing a 30 minute workout in the morning after getting out, cardio on an elliptical cross-trainer, the fog/headache, nausea are still ...

They did calm me down within 1hr of taking them as I was having thoughts of impending doom , death & suicidal thoughts all the time .I have a job getting up and only do when I feel ready to , which could be anytime. After reading all the things about them I am reluctant to carry on taking them and will have to discuss this with my Dr when I see her next. Does anyone know what category of antidepressants they come into .. ## Mirtazapine is a tetracyclic antidepressant and yes, the drowsiness and fatigue can be normal side effects, however, they should wear off after 4 to 6 weeks, once your body adjusts to the medica...
