plain light blue round pill with no imprint but scoring on one side, tought to be a heart worm pill for my dog. ## It's difficult to be sure, since it doesn't have any markings. We can rule it out as being a prescription medication for humans, since they are required to have imprints to enable their identification. Learn more prescription drug details here. Have you tried checking with your vet? They may recognize it. ## PharmaRep ## Small round pill, VERY light blue, no imprint, crumbles very easily? They are manufactured overseas from the very same plant that produces MS Contin for Purdue Pharma. The major differences? MS Contin is super controlled release. These dont seem to work can you take every 8hrs instead of 12hrs ## Hi Mike, It sounds to me like the dosage may not be strong enough for you; but to answer your question, the usual adult dose for pain is 5 to 30 mg every 3 to 4 hours as needed (when taking it Orally, Sublingual, or Buccal). The dosing indications for MS Contin (Morphine Oral) also state that "extended-release" tablet dosages range from 10 mg to 600 mg daily, given in equally divided doses every 8 to 12 hours or given as one dose every 24 hours. So depending on whether or not your tablets are extended-release, you should have some flexibility with the hours. I hope this helps! ## They are extend release ## If anyone is looking for a "buzz" with MS Contin, you are very unlikely to get it. These pills are ...

Does it take some time to build up in the system for this medication to start working for pain? I have just started taking them today, 1 every 12 hours. Thank you for any information that you can give me. ## Hi gwen, While it's certainly going to take some time for it to fully build up in your system, I would think that you should at least be able to feel or notice some sensation of relief within a short period of time after taking your dose. However, because MS Contin is timed released and usually lasts up to 12 hours, it's time-release effect could also be minimizing how much is absorbed into your system at any given moment; making it seem like it's not working as well as it should be. That's my theory anyways...But in the event that you're just not getting any rel...

Idk thats my question can some one help me out here lol ## No, the active ingredient in MS Contin is a time released formulation of Morphine. Learn more MS Contin details here. And the active ingredient in Oxycontin is Oxycodone. Learn more Oxycontin details here. They are both narcotic analgesics that have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on mscotin for 0 years for cronic pain and i am so tired of all the headaches you have to go through while on them. I was wandering how long would it take to get this drug completley out of my system and my dependenacy on them? ## Hi, Billy! How are you? Well, from experience, I can tell you that it will take about 2 weeks for the worst of the withdrawal symptoms to wear off and about 6 weeks before you're really starting to feel back to normal. I was on it for pain management for about 8 years, when I stopped taking it cold turkey, I was taking 75mgs twice a day. The worst part was actually the rebound pain, my joints ached so badly that I couldn't sleep. I ended up on the couch most nights, with my limbs propped in whatever weird position would alleviate that miser...

How long does it take for MS Contin to get out of your blood stream for drug test? ## I am currently taking three different medications Lipitor, hctz, and metoprolol would any of these cause me to have a negitive drug test. ## ms contin is Morphine Sulphate. And Morphine is eliminated from the urine in 48 to 72 hours as a general rule of thumb.Factors such as weight and or metabolic rate as well as some kidney and liver dysfunction may increase the time to 5 days but rarely if ever does it take this long. I am a FORMER pharmacist as well as an over 20 year narcotic prescription ( ab )user and was on federally mandated drug testing i.e. urinalysis. However the hair follicle test can test positive for months and sometime years. Hope this helps. ## MS Contin is Morphine Sulphate. General r...

I am a chronic pain patient of 13 years and untill about six months ago was taking Norco 10s 8-10 times daily with 3 Soma daily along with 2 Fioricet a day. Then my Doc switched me to 3 60mg of MS Contin a day. I feel even worse now then I did before all the pain meds! It's like this horrble mussle ache and weekness that naggs at me all day and night, no matter what I do I cant seem to get comfortable and my sister/roommate says I have become a lot more rude and cold towards her and other people. I agree with her because everyone has been irritating to me and I have completely lost my sex drive. My Doc is of no help because I find it hard to explain to him what I am feeling. I hope I did a good enough job of it now as I hope someone here can help me. Can the MS Contin be making me f...

my pain got worse after taking ms contin ## Sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately prescription medications are only made to cover up the symptoms associated with pain; & once the covers are pulled off the wound, per say, the pain can still be there. So reoccurring pain is actually quite common in that regard. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Morphine Details Have you considered talking to your doctor about any other options for relief?

I was given 15 Mg MS CONTIN. About 4 hrs after taking it I feel extremely agitated. grrrrrr!!! I was prescribed this 2 days ago. I take it for hand and arm pain 1 pill every 12 hrs. Little bit of pain still not so bad but this irritated aggravated feeling is making me want to climb the walls. Does it ever go away? Please help in away way to even possibly give me some ideas that alleviated this agitation or how to deal. Thank you. ## Interestingly enough, "agitation" is listed as a general side effect of MS Contin (controlled-release morphine). Ref: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682133.html#side-effects Usually in cases like this, the side effects wont necessarily go away until you stop taking what's causing them in the first place. There's not really a supplemen...

My Doctor just switched my Lortab to MS Contin 60 mg, 12 hr. time release. I had been taking Lortab for 13 yrs and it was no longer effective. I am achieving pain relief with MS Contin but my entire body itches. Will this symptom go away with time? I do recall that I had itching when first using Lortab which eventually went away. Has anyone had the same experience and does the itching go away? Thanks so much!! ## itching is common side effect of many pain medications with oxycontin or oxycodone being the worse, consult with your Dr. in regards of using bendryl, this can cause drowsiness so be careful ## MS Contin contains the active ingredient Morphine CR, which is a very potent narcotic analgesic. The itching is not a very common side effects, however, some people do experience it. You...

I live in springfield gardens ny 11413. Need a pham that has m contin 15. ## There are almost always shortages this time of year, due to the mandatory manufacturing limits. Thus, you may need to see if there are any alternative medications you can use for awhile. Learn more MS Contin details here. Another idea would be to see if your insurance provider has any other preferred mail order pharmacies, since they may still have it in stock. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

I had asked my pharmacist how my last prescription I got there of 30mg MS Contin was 3 times the size of the other. One was red and huge and the other was blue and smaller than a aspirin .She acted like I was stupid and just kept repeating they were both 30mg of morphine. No s*** really? Anyway I figure one is full of garbage filler and the other was cleaner? I just don't know but would rather put the least amount of garbage into my body as possible.Anybody have a clue on how one pill could be soooo much bigger and what is in it? ## Yes, you're right, one was likely full of inactive filler ingredients and it just suited the manufacturer's fancy to make them that size. I have constant pain not effected by any other madicatiio. How do I order ms contin on line ## You don't, with new regulations you can not order it online unless you have a doctor do it for you. ## You can still obtain some prescriptions, via online or mail order, if you have a prescription for them, but controlled substances like this are very hard to get that way, due to the severe risk of theft and diversion. And without a prescription, it can't be legally obtained, at all. What has your doctor recommended?

How can you take a partial dose of MS Contin? ## Since MS Contin is a time released formulation of Morphine, there is no way to do so. If you need to take a lower dose, then you should talk to your doctor about prescribing a lower dosage, or prescribing a formulation that is a regular release, rather than a time released one. Are there any other questions or comments?
