I just started birth control (loloestrin fe)for the first time and I after the first week of taking it I got some spotting but last Friday (today is Monday) It turned Into much heavier bleeding, worse than my regular period ever was. I want to know when this will stop as I have a long vacation coming up June 7th. Did anyone else encounter this? If so, when did It stop for you? Can I do anything to stop this?

That type of side effect can occur for the first three months, when you start taking these hormonal contraceptives.

It's due to the way they affect your body's natural hormones.

Generally, spotting and heavier bleeding is due to elevated estrogen levels and that is highly likely, since these do contain a form of it.

And I'm sorry, but there's really no way to make sure it doesn't happen during your vacation.

Have you discussed it with your doctor?

I have not did not reply it as I am so early in the pack. But even if this continues for awhile I'm not sure I can handle this heavy bleeding for the next three months. I just can't keep up with it
