My daughter was having her wisdom teeth removed 4 days ago. She was given 25mg. of Ketamine into her IV because the assistant said she was not settling down during the surgery. After the 15 - 20 minute procedure, she has lost all her memory. Every morning, she does not remember anything from the pervious day. ## Hello, Christine! How is your daughter doing? That is not a side effect listed by the FDA, though there is no way to know how any given medication will affect anyone that is given it, since we are all different. It has been known to cause psychosis and disorientation. Is she on any other medications? Anything for pain?

need to know if this substance causes optical flashes and headaches and also causes issues with ones vision. As my ex-husband has been breaking into my home and using a drug on me and it is very scary. ## I would suggest calling the police for your own safety and protection. And if the drug you are referring to is Ketamine, it is a very strong, disassociative anesthetic, used in both people and animals. Very potent stuff and yes, it can mess with your eyesight and cause amnesia as well. ## Would like information on a catamine coma ## Discuss ketamine coma ## Is Catamine prescribed for extreme clinical depression? What dosage? Are there clinical trial results? ## I saw this word in a historical novel about Ancient Rome

Apply since 2 weeks this topical cream. 3 days ago I started to experience numbness of the entire foot. It's getting more frequent by the hour. Assume this to be a side effect since I did not experience foot numbness before and it is only in the foot I am applying this cream on the right side. Per docs instruction I have to apply 4 times a day combined with 3 times a day: Ketamine 5% Gel. Any advice for me? Thank you. ## Hello, Peter! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. That is very unusual, generally side effects are limited to topical skin reactions, such as redness, irritation and burning. The Lidocaine is an anesthetic, so it could possibly do that. Do you know how much of it is in there? Is there a dosage listed? Have you consulted your doctor a...

Outside of veterinary medicine, it's used to treat some people with severe mental health disorders that have been resistant to other treatments and therapies and has some anesthetic applications. It's main side effects are due to its sedative like effects and may include dizziness, drowsiness, sedation and loss of consciousness. Is there anything I can help with? ## Salutations, to Vernvon and happy holidays. Kim ## And Happy holidays to you! I stumbled upon an article briefly mentioning its use for such symptoms, and was just curious to know if anyone w/ OCD symptoms actually had success with it? Here is a brief excerpt: "A single, intravenous dose of ketamine, a non-competitive N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) glutamate receptor antagonist, can lead to rapid anti-obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) effects that persist for at least one week in some OCD patients who have constant intrusive thoughts, according to this small randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial. This is the first randomized, controlled trial to demonstrate that a drug affecting glutamate neurotransmission can reduce OCD symptoms without the use of a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, according to the authors, and is consistent with a glutama...

For those of you suffering with Treatment Resistant Major Depressive Disorder, Emory University is doing the BEST study in my opinion. They are implanting electrodes into "Area 25" of the brain which when placed in the correct spot, provides immediate relief from some or all of the symptoms of Major Depression. Anyway, their study has shown far better prognosis long-term than Ketamine which is only meant for short term, emergent use (per the NIH study objective). I mention Ketamine because these is a lot of buzz about it lately as a treatment which it is not, nor will it ever receive FDA approval for long term treatment. At Emory they implant the electrode during surgery which you are awake for. When they tap into the spot that gives you immediate positive response, the electrod...
