Isosorbide mn er 30ml was added about 8 days ago to my mother's meds. She is 85. Two and a half days ago she started complaining of pain from her belly down into her upper thigh going down toward her knees in both legs. I am wondering if Isosorbide could be the cause since this is the only thing that has changed in her routine. ## These types of symptoms are warned about in the drug monograph. Learn more Isosorbide details here. Has she consulted her doctor? That's the sign of a possible serious problem and she needs to talk to her doctor immediately. Has she improved any? ## I did not know at the time that she had been having pain in her lower back. I have a burning sensation in my stomach and some heart burn as well. Can I take Pantocid? if so when should I take it? ## I would suggest talking to your doctor, rather than just grabbing something and starting to take it. No one, except for your doctor, can discover what, exactly, is causing your problem, which could be something serious that requires treatment. Also, only your doctor can tell you the correct dosage and time of day to take it. ## Dear Sir, I am 65 years old and I have Diabetic, Anxiety, Hypertension, Acidity and Ischemic Heart disease. this pill just has R 713 marked on one side its oblong and white and has a split in the middle like a deep scoring. its not RX 713 just R 713 and the R looks almost like a P ## Hello, Thanks for providing the detailed description. I was able to locate the pill with these markings to be an extended release Isosorbide Mononitrate (30mg), oral tablet. The "R" that curves around like a "P" at the top is actually identified as a logo and not a letter; although I'm not exactly sure which company logo this figure represents. This medication is used in the treatment of heart failure, angina pectoris prophylaxis, and esophageal spasm. More information about this medication can be viewed in the two links below: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0000660/ I hope this helps!

I recently had an angiogram in which it was found that I had a minor arterial blockage for which isosorb 30mg was prescribed. This drug worked fine for 30 days, but when refilled by a different pharmacy isosorbide mono 30mg was provided. After the first dose, I had this hard to describe upper respiritory sensation, which kept me awake, and I also developed intense pain in my right hip, leaving me hardly able to walk. The two pills look different - the first is pink and oblong while the second is round and white with a mark across the middle as if intended to be cut in half. Can you answer? ## What are the markings on the tablets? From what you are describing, however, they both were the same thing, which is Isosorbide Mononitrate, it's just that not all pharmacies list the chemical ...

I have been prescribed above tablets by my GP as I have suspect angina getting very breathless and tired but no pain. I had an angeogram done about 4 years ago and put on heart tablets then. My problem is that I have low blood pressure and need B12 injections every 3 months for Pernicous anaema plus lots of other health problems. I am nervous abuot taking this tablet. What do you think? ## In this case, I would suggest having a discussion about it, with your doctor. Isosorbide had been known to cause hypotension in roughly 4 to 5% of the people that take it and, if yours is already low, it might create the risk of it dropping too low to be safe. They may have some ideas on how to counteract the possibility, such as increasing your fluid intake. How low is your blood pressure? Has it bee...

I had a cardiac catheterization. This was prescribed as a follow-up drug. Label says "dizziness" is a side affect. Why? What does this cause/affect that would make me dizzy? I take two other meds daily that state they cause the same side affect... ## There is no real way to say why any particular medication causes any side effect, but you are putting a chemical into your body, to help it operate better, which your body isn't used to having and thus, it is always possible that a reaction to it will occur. Isosorbide Mononitrate is used to help treat irregular heartbeat. Other side effects may include: nausea, headache and sleep disturbances. Learn more: Are there any other comments or questions?

I have been taking Isosorb Mono for about 6 weeks. In addition to a daily headache and some dizziness, I also have developed nose troubles. The inside of my nose is very dry and the mucus is bloody all the time. Has anyone else had this problem? I did have surgery 4 weeks ago and thought at first it had something to do with the oxygen while I was in the hospital, but now I'm wondering if it's not the Isosorb. ## this site is not medical professionals, so we can't give you a definitive answer, you really need to speak to your doctor. I am also not finding anything about this listed in the medication monograph, here: Have you contacted your doctor, yet?
