I get servere headache which lasts for hours I may stop taking this med n justuse pump spray if get chest pain ## Hello, Ady! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the headaches. However, it would best to speak to your doctor, before stopping it, as there might be something you can use to help mitigate the headaches. The spray can also cause them. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dry mouth and drowsiness. Is there anything else I can help with?

I started Imdur 30 mg. on Saturday 7/25/2015. Experienced a severe headache from 1:00 pm till 9:00 pm. Used lots of medications over the counter. Had the same severe headache on Sunday and Monday. On Tuesday I went to the doctor since this pain is not like a migraine because I'm a Tension Headache patient. Dr. prescribed a medication named Tancon. It is made in PR. Instructions are: 1 every 6 hours prn. It didn't help. I read instructions and it is recommending 1-2 tabs every 4 hrs, and not more then 6. It helps me. I would like to know when this headache will disappear or how long it will last? Its at its worst when there's chest pain but I know I can't quit. Thanks. ## As reported by the FDA, headaches can be a normal side effect of this medication. You may also experi...

I started taking isosorbide man er 30 mg on a Sunday, I developed what I thought was a bad bug really high fever and diarrhea. I got a little better. I even called the Dr. He said discontinue for one day and see if there was a difference. I did and didn't notice any . I got better and then about 4 days later developed severe abdominal pain and fever again. I'm being treated for diverticulitis, but waiting for a CT to confirm this. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this happen??? ## Hello, Kris! How are you? Those symptoms are listed by the FDA as possible side effects of this medication, however, they could also be from Diverticulitis. Other possible side effects may include changes in vision, earache, sweating, bleeding gums and jaw pain. Have you had your CT, yet?

What is the difference between the two. My husband took the ER, and I think by accident he was prescribed the SA by a different Dr. ## Hello, Shur! How are you and your husband? There is actually no difference, they are both just different abbreviations used to designate that he's been prescribed the time released formulation. The ER stands for extended release and the SA stands for sustained action, so they are different ways of saying the same thing. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, frequent urination and sore throat. Is there anything else I can help with?

I'm started taking 30 mg Isosorbide Mononitrate err 4 days ago. I have migraine type headaches now. How long will this last? ## Hello, Fran! How are you? Headaches can be a typical side effect of this medication, as listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, flushing and redness. It should ease up, after a few weeks, once your body adjusts to the medication. If it doesn't, or if it gets worse, you should speak to your doctor. They may have ideas on what you can do to lessen them. Is there anything else I can help with?

I feel some heart bits near my throat my blood pressure is a little bit low and my dr.prescribed some time ago this medicine for chest pain I want to know if this pill will make my blood pressure lower if I take it ## Hello, Mario! How are you? Did you mean that you're feeling your heart beat, you're having palpitations? If so, that could actually be due to low blood pressure. As listed by the FDA, Isosorbide is most commonly used to treat angina and yes, it can cause lowered blood pressure as a side effect, along with nausea, dizziness, headache and palpitations. Are you having chest pain? This medication isn't for treating the palpitations.

I took one of these pills after finding out that i have angina upon doing a stress test. The chest pain from the angina was manageable, and really minor. It had been going on for 5 months but had improved with change in diet, stopping alcohol and sweets. I was working hard doing construction and pain actually always went away late in the day. Apparently exercise is healthy, much healthier than these pills

We are cleaning out my grandmothers house and came across some pills with no labels on them, it is a small pink oval pill with lines on both side one side is blank and the other has what looks like E on one side and 30 across from it Really would Like to know what they are !! ## Hi Erin, I believe I have identified your pill as Isosorbide mononitrate extended release (30 mg). It is classified as a red oval pill, and has the imprint E 30 (separated by a score line) on one side- and a score line on the back. Isosorbide mononitrate is a drug used principally in the treatment of angina pectoris and acts by dilating the blood vessels so as to reduce the blood pressure. Adverse reactions: Very common: Headache predominates (up to 30%) necessitating withdrawal of 2 to 3% of patients, but the i...

I am taking many other drugs but if I forget to to take Isosorbide Mononitrate, I feel severe chest muscle pain for 4 to 5 minutes in the next morning, when my angiogram shows a minimum of 20% blockage. Kindly tell me what actual problem is there. ## The actual problem is you have a vessel to your heart that is more than 20% blocked. You did not mention which blood vessels were indicated. The food for your heart is oxygen. The oxygen is transported to the heart tissues by the blood in your vessels. When your heart does not get the food required, the oxygen, it hurts leading to you feeling chest pain, tightness, pressure, jaw pain, arm pain, stomach pain, nausea, heartburn/indigestion, arm pain, etc. The ISO dilates blood vessels thus allowing blood and the oxygen (food) it is carrying t...

Could this medication cause soaking wet sweats when not doing anything at all to cause sweating? ## According to my research, side effects from Isosorbide mononitrate are common and can include "flushing"; a feeling of warmth that may be contributing to the increased perspiration you've been experiencing lately. Ref: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682348.html I don't know the full extent or severity of this side effect, but you may want to go ahead and contact your doctor about other alternative options if the sweating becomes too bothersome or uncomfortable. I hope this info helps!

I have been taking isorb mono 30mg for approx 8 days. The biggest side effect is headaches. My question is: What is the result supposed to be to the patient for taking this rx? ## Based on my research, Isosorbide mononitrate is used in the treatment of heart failure, angina pectoris prophylaxis (chest pain), and esophageal spasm. It works by relaxing the blood vessels to the heart, so the blood and oxygen supply to the heart is increased. More details on this medication can be found by visiting the page below: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682348.html I hope this info helps to answer your question!

My wife has been taking "isosorb mono er 30mg tab wes" for a couple years. The pharmacy changed the tab to "Isosorb Mono Er 30mg Tab tor". The tablets have a different appearance.
